there's no proof it was the ah mods who took it to wankgate, in fact the post on wg was defending/supporting the emp mod. it just backfired on them when anons called out the whole thing as being shitty.

imo emp mod's attitude in the posted pms was just as wanky as the ah mods. nobody came out of it looking particularly good.

emp mod said they were late freezing the comments because they live in the seattle area (during the height of the covid-19 mess) and ah mod came back with this comment: "Your threat to ban my account seems wildly severe and unwarranted, and while I realize that stress may be to blame..."

"I realize that stress may be to blame" for enforcing the posted rules instead of letting the rule-breaking behavior slide has the same kind of feeling as a man claiming that a woman showing any kind of emotion during an argument is being irrational and therefore whatever she's saying ought to be discounted.

regardless of what's going on in emp mod's personal life, the rules are the rules and they apply to everybody. ah mod is not special or exempt. pretending that emp mod enforcing stated rules is "the result of stress" is patronizing and douchey. emp mod's reaction to ban them is warranted.

tbh i'm not even convinced there was more than just one really dedicated anon trying to make the emp mod look bad there, just a really dedicated sameanon.

i'm not convinced ayrt isn't still that sameanon, too. mostly because it was pretty cut and dry that they were in the right, and didn't owe the other person any artificial kindness given how rude and presumptive that shithead was being.
