also i'm running out of excuses for my dude memhopping when he'd stop after a certain point, though i do appreciate someone suggesting that Dream Logic could make him fuzzy enough on what was going on to keep going longer than he would otherwise

rather than thinking of everything sequentially just let it happen. dream logic is a great tool

but tbh i have a bug in my brain about this stuff & there's only so far i can go with it before that starts acting up and i do this dumb as heck freak-out about "oh no too much is happening in one timeframe, what's the sequence on these, HOW DOES THE NARRATIVE COHERE--" and then i blow up

i dunno if this would help because my rp brain bugs are different, but rather than dream logic making things not happen sequentially, would it help if they messed with the memories? i’ve been treating the dreams such that while in the dream, she can vaguely remember some things and forgets other things, so when she wakes up, she can piece together a sequence but in the dream she never realized how weird it was.

two people talked to her independently about the same thing in the same place? in her dream, her memory of exactly what lead up to this moment is fuzzy but she doesn’t think about it unless it’s directly addressed, because sometimes you just Know Things.

like with last tdm as an example:
dream self: i know i talked to some folks at the lake cavern, went up the river in the boat, and now i am talking to you in the city. maybe i will remember something that happened in a thread that is happening in the cavern if it’s cool, but i don’t think about it too hard unless i get asked about that other person, where i realize my memory is fuzzy, but it takes concentration to care.
awake self, trying to remember the dream in the morning: so i...got in the boat twice? I was riding down the river and then i can’t quite remember what happened after [point where thread ended] but i remember being at the boats again?? there were two people i talked to in the city about their home world but i never noticed it’s the same place?? how high was i on dream fog????

that actually really helps, anon! (& it's spurred on by there's a thread i really want to do that i basically need to flex the dream weirdness for)

thank you for explaining it that way -- it is really helping me get over my silly "no i need to account for EVERYTHING" worries
