is anyone else having trouble making new posts on tumblr? i click the buttons and nothing happens.

last post someone was having problems with their queue and i tried what was recommended there - disabled my ad blocker, went into settings to try to opt out of whatever update had been made that was fucking with everything. i didn't see any option to do the latter.

i was the anon with the queue problem. i can no longer like, reblog, or do anything with tumblr on my normal browser... but i can in incognito mode. except then i can't login.

i had to use the mobile app. i think it's an issue with something in chrome and xkit not jiving but i can't find any info on it.

I want to redo ALL of my icons, but just was using sequential numbers as my keywords

I'm feeling lazing and don't want to match up the new 127 to the old 127, and I'm fine if it just goes to my default icon.

How do I accomplish this? I felt like last time I batch deleted and uploaded a bunch of icons it failed spectacularly and I ended up just restarting my number sequence because old threads were replaced with totally inappropriate icons.

A method I've used in the past is:

- Delete your icons
- Reupload new ones without keywords
- Rename all of your keywords at the same time

This causes (or did the last time I tried) a bug where it didn't rename your icons correctly and read the old icon slots as being the default. I have no idea if DW ever patched it like they said they would.

A friend of mine has also used:
- Rename all current icons (if you give each one the same keyword it should swap all but one of them to a pic#12345 style name)
- Delete all current icons
- Upload new icons

It seems like a lot of threads in my game are getting dropped or proceeding at glacial speed with the general tone feeling like people aren't really enjoying them or just paying me lip service, while others boomerang the dickens out of them and proceed to do three or four threads a month with me. I can't help but wonder if people are finding this character polarizing, obnoxious, or otherwise just not fun to play against. I can't help but feel there's some obvious 'this is what you're doing wrong, bozo' sign that I'm completely missing.

Are there any active games that don't have much of a focus on housing and jobs and money? I find that aspect of games to be so boring. I think having a magic closet(?) was the one thing eway did right.

I don't know why, but as soon as I see a huge section on living arrangements and different jobs, I just lose interest so fast. I like acknowledging it, but that's as far as I can go without feeling meh about it. Probably has to do with the types of characters I play, where they don't have mundane jobs? idk

this actually happens to me constantly, and it's because i get really perfectionist about the threads i enjoy the most. like, the more invested in the thread i am, the longer it takes me to tag it because i keep feeling like i have to fit so much stuff into the tag and i have to make it perfectly fitting and do the thread justice.

i keep trying to break myself of that mindset, because it winds up not being fun for anybody involved, but it's really hard.

a thread for things you've found useful and want to pass on to other anons

here are mine:

- it's so much better to send one awkward private message than to spend months in anxious turmoil. if in doubt, ask.
- don't try to be all things to all people, it's pointless
- trying to get as much cr as possible because you think you "should" will only lead to burnout and disappointment
- nobody cares as much as you do about that One Perfect Tag. most people just want the tag. go write it and get to the next one.
- everyone struggles sometimes, it's ok to ask for help
- being self-indulgent is fun and leads to more enthusiastic and exciting threads. don't be afraid of indulging. rp should not feel like homework.

if you're struggling with a tag but have some idea of what you want to say, draft it out in caveman terms.

"character did this. then this happened. it made him feel this. and then he did THIS"

then come back and rewrite it and restructure it until it becomes a good proper tag. i've become a way more consistent tagger ever since i started doing this. sometimes all it takes is writing it like i'm 5 years old and what i actually want to say comes flooding in right after!

Here’s a challenge for you, describe in detail a mega level Digimon and see if anyone can recognise it. I limit it to mega levels just because how batshit their designs are.

Hard mode, you cannot reference a real world animal, pick a well known one (like, say Wargreymon) or one that’s just a human in a suit.

Do any of you who draw your own icons (or icon art from other sources) have any tips for...making icons that don't lose all their definition at 100px? Trying to draw icons for an OC and WOW, maybe I'm working too big on the originals or not using a crisp enough style for my lines, but everything resizes to garbage

Photoshop's resizing algorithms are shit no matter what you use, whether it's too blurry (bicubic smoothing) or you get weird crunchy lines out of it (bicubic sharper). You could try fooling around with unsharp mask but I've always hated the results I got.

You might try:
- Converting your artwork to a smart object to resize it (keeps all the image data)
- weirdly enough an icon that looks shitty when you resize it doesn't look AS shitty if you just crop it to a square and zoom out? So you could try (yes this is convoluted) just cropping, zooming out til your square is about 100x100, and then taking a screenshot to crop again

Admittedly I haven't tried either of these since I haven't iconed anything that needed it in a while, but worth a shot.
