Come on, anons, tell me your very best horror stories from RPing. Tell me about that guy who was soulbonded to his character and wanted you to play smut because he thought you were his reincarnated dead gay lover. Tell me about the girl who stalked you across multiple accounts because you were her only friend and HDU play with anyone but her!

one time i was apping a character to a game and this other person wanted to ship her character with mine. i had only said "maybe" but she seemed to think that meant yes. she started spamming me with private plurks of fanart of my character talking about how hot he was and this other shit i didn't really reply to.

we did a log once i had the character in game. my character didn't react very favorably toward hers and she sent me an angry PM wondering why i wasn't immediately shipping them. i said i wanted it to develop naturally and my character didn't really like her's at this point. she gave me a guilt trip over it and asked if i hated her personally, or if i was annoyed by her or something. i don't remember what i said back to her, i think i just ignored it.

then the next day she PMed me again and blamed "her anxiety disorder" for why she flipped out. it was so fucking bizarre and it's part of the reason i don't socialize oocly much. too many crazyasses

It's been so long ago, but let's just say there's a damn good reason I don't play at games where the head mods are SOs who live together.

I've been at two where the only mods were SOs living together. One died in about four-ish months. The other was less than six.

I was in one other game where two of the mods (out of four or five) were girlfriends who lived together with one of their parents. That wasn't so bad. But when you have a game that's run only by SOs, yeah no. Nope. Not even gonna bother apping, no matter how amazing the premise is.

The game I was in lasted for a long time (and after that they made other games) but they attracted drama like a magnet. They'd be perfectly fine one moment and then the next they were replaced by toddlers.

I was friends with a girl back in the days of GJ. We'll call her X. I cannot for the life of me remember how I met her, I think we might have joined a game at the same time and just clicked? But we were very fast friends. I was still in high school, but I'd stay up for hours when I should have been sleeping just to talk to her and RP. She played the other half to my OTP and happened to be friends with someone who who we will call Y.

I met Y through X during a group chat, and hit it off with her, too. I wasn't in a game with Y, but she also played from a different fandom I was interested in picking up a character in. I eventually did, and started spending a lot of time talking to Y.

At some point after I'd become sort-of friends with Y, X started disappearing for long periods. This was upsetting, obviously, because I really liked talking to X, but then I started spending more time chatting and RPing with Y. Eventually it became clear X was no longer speaking to Y, having fed her some story about her mother dying or something, I don't even remember, but X was still talking to me and begged that I keep it a secret. Fine, whatever.

Y and I developed a pretty good friendship, and I introduced her to the canon X and I had been playing from for about a year and a half. She immediately wanted to pick up the protagonist from the canon, which was, guess what?! The same character X had been playing. I started playing the 'ship with Y in a musebox while also occasionally tagging with X, who was still pretty spotty about being around.

About a month into this, X found out that I was playing "our pairing" with Y and flipped the fuck out, calling me on the phone to sob and accuse me of replacing her, send me long emails about how much she missed our time together, the whole nine yards. I was, idk, 16-ish at this point, so I totally fell for it, soothing her aching bottom at the drop of a hat.

I only started blanching when X demanded I drop Y and never speak to her again, accusing Y of doing all sorts of terrible things to X like spread rumors and "steal" all her rp partners.

Well this went on for about a month before even my 16 and infinitely patient to bullshit self got fed up, and everything culminated in X accidentally outing herself as having been pretending to be about 6 different people in the RP circles I ran in before officially dropping off the face of the earth.

I maintained a good friendship with Y before she too went a little batshit, and that was the point I moved over to LJ rp officially and made up a new persona for myself.

lmao this is so very tl;dr but it was fun to think back on all that bullshit.

well i guess it's not that bad compared to your examples but

i used to do one-on-one with this guy based on a show we both liked. like, he would play half the characters and i would play the other half. we both liked the two main characters as a pairing so we spent about a year and a half developing a relationship between them and tying it into the storyline we had.

we had to hiatus for a couple of months and when we got back to it, we started up, got back to the story...and suddenly his half of the pairing is mooning all over another character and asking her to marry him. i went wtf and he was like "oh, well, i decided i ship these two instead, let's just ignore all the stuff we did before". i said i wasn't really comfortable with that and he went "ugh fine, let's just start a new game. i don't care what it is as long as these two get married and have a daughter because i wrote her app already."

we argued back and forth on it for a while, i should've just dropped him immediately but it was my first time up against a die-hard shipper and i just could not understand it. the stupidest part is that if he had just ASKED i would've been okay with plotting out something involving our characters breaking up or whatever...i seriously don't get why he thought just suddenly throwing out over a year of cr without even warning me was the best way to go about it.

This is kind of boring, but I used to be in this cast with this guy. He was pretty okay at first, a little pushy but not in a way that put me off. Mostly he just wanted my character to act really tender and motherly toward his (much younger) character, which was OOC. I basically fended off his pushing by pointing the OOCness out and he was huffy about it but he backed off.

Fast forward awhile and he starts getting more and more pushy about those kinds of things, as well as trying to force other people into ships. He still didn't totally creep me out, but one day he called me fat, and, being the stupid teenager that I was, I sent him one of my junior prom pictures, which had been a few months before. That was when the creep level upped quite a bit, and he kept doing things like "/kisses on the cheek" and "/kisses on the head" in chat, which I quickly put a stop to. He also started asking me if I would ever date him or kiss him if I came to where he lived, and I said "No." That was when I started trying to distance myself from him (but I didn't want to leave the cast because of my love for the other players in it).

Come to find out, he had really skeeved out my other castmembers and some of my other friends of the female variety. Two of them blocked him, and myself and another were close behind. So what does the idiot do? Make a new AIM to talk to the ones he had blocked, myself included, which we quickly blocked again. Luckily, at that point he stopped, and none of us have had to deal with him since.

He also told me a rape joke one time, and when I said I didn't find rape jokes funny and asked he not share them with me, he told me that he would prove they were and started spamming me with macros. It was gross. This was about the time I finally got fed up with him and blocked him.

Back in like 2005 I roleplayed with (kind of - we had mutual friends and would talk in group chats but never really talked or played together one-on-one) this dude who claimed to be deeply in love with Gavrilo Princip. Yes, the guy who started World War I. Basically, the guy would talk about Gavrilo, who he called 'Gavvy', as if they were soulmates and the fact that one of them had been dead since 1918 didn't matter, because their love transcended time and space. He even threw a birthday party for 'Gavvy' once and invited a bunch of our mutual friends. This frankly weird as fuck behavior went on for over a year and was still going on when I lost touch with him.

Last I heard of the guy he had given up RPing and had decided to write a novel about Bosnia.

I once got dragged into a badly-done Sakura/Tomoyo/Syaoran threesome. Like, Tomoyo and Sakura were having sexytimes and Syaoran wandered in and suddenly there was dick and fluids and the Tomoyo player was just sooooo OOC. I mean...okay, I can buy Tomoyo suggesting a threesome, but she puts Sakura's happiness and well-being above all else. And if Sakura weren't down with that she'd back off. This Tomoyo player just thought "ooh sexy" and dragged Syaoran the fuck in there.

Syaoran's player was so icked out we ended up having to do the storyline all over again just to remove evidence of that threesome. At the time I thought he was being a moron but looking back I can't say I blame him.

Oh, and they were all twelve in this plot, if I remember correctly.
