nah the mods did this one to themselves by being so inflexible about a nonsensical rule that would render the majority of existing characters unappable unless the players were fine with sitting out of the game for part of every month.

actually i think it was a bit of both but more so on ca and friends part.

the mods having that rule and sounding like they were sticking to it did them no favors. they seemed like they were open to feedback on it and that was a step in the right direction.

however

ca and her friends fanning flames and just being the douchiest of douches didn't help in making the mods feel like any changes they were going to make (if any) was going to be enough. they were getting a shitstorm before they even opened. it probably just seemed better to cut their losses and leave.

basically while i think both contributed to things, i think if ca and her asshole friends had stfu long enough, maybe things would've turned out different. we'll never know now.

it looked like they were clarifying questions and then when it was pointed out that it was a problem that players wouldn't enjoy that post went up. it's funny how rpers expect mods of any game to be able to whip out a solution in five minutes.

i do agree that we'll never know now though. they made the post which implied that they wanted to fix it but then those douches made it seem like it wouldn't matter what they did.

also, why do rpers bitch about no new games and then trash anyone that tries. mods aren't paid and they do it in their spare time. if you don't like the game then move on. if you have constructive crit then be polite about it and help them out.

But apart from a pastbin of Ca's own plurk, and "omg mcu rush" I've yet to see any actual evidence linking Ca and her clique having any direct impact on this whole thing. I don't have any of the crew on my plurk, and I've not seen anything from them.

All I see is a frozen FAQ thread of reasonable concerns about an unclear rule. An OOC post that the mods only said that they would consider a different option if something came up, but then never addressed any suggestion that did. And a game plurk with barely anything on it.

Please. Point me to a source were Ca and her friends actually caused this other than "they were THERE!" Correlation is not causation, anon. Where's your evidence?

That is, unless the mods were so tender that someone's personal plurk hurt their delicate feelings so gravely they went into hiding. If so, that's still not Ca's direct action causing this.

None of them, dipshit. Literally all I've seen is a pastebin of Ca complaining about the game on her own plurk. I want to know what she did to burn this game that wasn't also done by all of the people in the FAQ thread and the OOC post.

if you are seriously telling me you looked at the whole wg thread, the pastebins and still don't see how her and her friends did nothing but fan the flames against mods that were already overwhelmed by the response to a rule, and proceeded to instigate an antagonistic atmosphere and tone against a game that wasn't even open yet, then you are either:

one of her friends despite how much you're trying to act like you "aren't"

or just dumb

or being willfully obtuse just because you think ca is someone that needs defending

anon. all of that was on wg (if any of that was even ca) and her plurk. the stuff in the game itself, ie; on the faq thread and the post, was tame and just people politely questioning or curious or pointing out problems. there was no 'fanning' of anything. a rule was put in place before the game opened that would make playing somewhat problematic as it stood, so clarification and/or editing of said rule was what was in question.

anything else is just bullshit anon crap screaming into the void like they do over any game. every new game gets this. i don't agree with it, but this isn't some ca-specific treatment of anything. people interested in the game questioned the specifics. the mods left everything and backed off. there's no explanation of why. blaming ca for that is just dumb. one shitty person and her shitty friend circle who weren't even chirping up didn't close a game.

if she wants to be shitty in her plurk, then she can do that. i don't actually know her. i'm not on her plurk. all i read was that pastebin. and i can and have easily avoided her in every game i've been in. her mere existence and whining over shit didn't close the game. it's possible the mods have opted to take a step back and rethink the way they want to outline it because 'movie rules' do not actually transfer well into dwrp with the mechanics they put into place. the game could still be opening, but they might be revamping it. if that's the case, they're not doing themselves any favors by not putting up a notice of 'hold on guys, we'll bb after a little redo'. ca didn't make them go radio silence. no one did. they clearly didn't think that a rule/aspect of the game would be that much of an issue. they found out it was. how they handled that is their own shit. not ca's. not gsai's. not tifa's. not pink's. not lins or jeep or anyone else.

8 people what was an ongoing thread with a legitimate question and concerns about an aspect of the game which, btw, wasn't started by ca, is not 'ambushing the mods'. do you even know what words mean? any game that has a rule/aspect that is questionable, unclear, or something that might not work is going to have people, often more than one, ask about it. particularly if that rule is going to affect as large a group of people as that particular rule would. needing clarity on that to decide whether you will/won't app isn't 'ambushing the mods'. it's figuring out if this is the right game for your character/you. the fact that you literally can't see that makes me wonder if you're either a mod trying to make this about anything but the mods houdini-ing, or that you're just so angry that ca exists, everything she does is magnified and it's all about her and not the actual facts.

I'm really starting to think this anon that keeps screaming that it's Ca's fault is the mods. The only place a real "ambush" could have happened is in the DMs, which only the mods would see.

If this really were some nefarious plot by Ca, as the screaming hatred anon keeps insisting, wouldn't everyone in that "ambush" be a "minion" of Ca's? I use both terms lightly of course as it's really a small handful people going "Um...what the fuck?" cause the first response from the mods is certifiably batshit crazy.

it's hardly ambushing. if one or two people have an issue, it can be considered a difference in opinion. if half a dozen of the potential playerbase have an issue with a game mechanic, then it's something to revisit.

Your argument is weak. If the mods can't handle 8 people wanting clarification on a batshit rule, how the hell were they going to handle the constant onslaught of bullshit mods have to put up with on a daily basis?

anon, idk how to tell you this, but as someone who has been a mod at a few games in the past, even large ones, this is a pretty ordinary thing when there's a big communication error (it happens) and shit needs clarifying.

this isn't even that big of a thread, in comparison to some other games get from time to time.

I'm not sure what "overwhelmed" you're referring to here. The FAQ thread was pretty small and the OOC post got a grand total of 16 comments. If 16 comments is "overwhelming" how the hell did the mods plan to manage anything?

I don't give a flying fuck about Ca. I didn't even know who she was until this all happened and wg kept bringing her up. But screaming "CA FANNED THE FLAMES!" and "CA KILLED IT!" makes you look like an idiot if you have nothing to back it up. Cause I've seen the plurk pastebin. The one where she says she's not going to app but keep rubbing herself all over the TDM. It's mind-numbing but not incriminating.

If you would use your eyes to actually read what I said, I'm not saying "But what about THOSE people." I'm asking what specifically elevates her above them. What makes a generically irritating, game-hopping flake the sole person to blame in this?

I've been so confused by this entire situation from beginning to end. First it was the mods' inability to clear their rule up, now it's where this "CA KILLED THE GAME" thing came from. Yeah, Ca's a piece of shit, but from what I see, she hardly commented on anything in regards to these mod posts or in the mod plurks. I'm not trying to defend her, but why is she the one you blame for this? It seems to me that the mods just got overwhelmed and decided to skip town.
