Rundown:

rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.
Shut up about Tumblr. If it's not a discussion about Tumblr RP it will be deleted.

damn, really? i've been able to access dw all day.

and for future reference, i recommend using the "light" layout ("?style=light") and disabling images/maybe javascript too on your phone browser to conserve phone data. not sure what phone os you have but you should be able to prevent certain data-hungry apps from using your data in the background too, at least for android.

i only pay for 1 gb a month in case of emergencies where i can't use wi-fi so i don't dick around lol.

actually i'm the same way with basically trying to manage 1 gb a month on an emergency-use basis, hi5 for frugal data usage anon! this advice is good to know tho. if dreamwidth has another hiccup in the near future i'm sure i'll be putting these tips to good use

i try to avoid streaming when possible. i keep music on my phone instead of streaming spotify. i keep some fun videos on it in case i feel like watching something. things like that.

also remember to watch out for nearby wi-fi hotspots to use instead of your phone data! if you know where you're going, you could see what's nearby that definitely has free wi-fi. or look up one of those wi-fi password sites. like a nearby motel's pw or one for a doctor's office, not necessarily some rando in the neighborhood.

and to save battery life, i recommend keeping wi-fi off unless you're actively looking for it or using it. if you need to charge fast, put your phone on airplane mode or turn it off entirely while it charges.
