rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

There are multiple people on the TDM that I love and think would make great additions.

I still don't want them to join yet because the game already has too many players, too many cliques, and not enough content to sustain our current load. I'd rather the mods close apps for a month or two and fix the problems that have been around since day one before they let more people pile on.

As that's not happening, why not just say who you like and make people feel welcome to the game?

The time to bitch about the game being too big is between app cycles when something can be done, not when people have put effort into top levels and have apps written. Jesus Christ no wonder people think we're unwelcoming shitheads.

as someone on the TDM who would love to get some positive feedback anonymous or otherwise, you're making it into a big deal. no one is going to drop favorites because it invites everyone to shit on them, not just players in the game.

there is no need to be dropped as a favorite, stop making this crusade for positivity awkward.

I don't give the first crap about getting my name dropped, I'm already in game and doing fine. But saying there are people you love but you don't want anyone to join is a dick move when people are already playing imo and I honestly feel bad about how this whole thread makes the game look.

Game size is something to take to the mods who should have put in an app cap and cleared the dead wood already.

Because I don't want them to join. Someone could be the best RPer in all of DWRP and I'd still want them to hold off because it's not a matter of quality. It's a matter of the game being too fucking big. I'd rather miss out on some new players now than increase the odds of the game collapsing under its own weight.

If everyone stopped trying to all pile into the popular game of the month we probably wouldn't have this problem but it's the shitty cycle we're stuck in so GOTTA BANDWAGON FAST I guess.

i'm just a flatviewer but i hate how all games are like this these days. either they're so massive i can't keep up and people join by the 100+ every app round, or they just fizzle out and die because no one cares. where's the mediums?

there's no mediums because everyone's so fucking obsessed with where their friends are apping they just can't bear the thought of not squeezing all fifty of them into same space, even if the game is a poor fit for them personally, it really is a case of the bandwagoning effect at its worst

that and nobody wants to make new games or mod them so people pick one of the five still alive and that's all we get now

The mods just did that. The game is on a bimonthly app cycle now.

The only other options would be to close apps period until the playerbase falls below a certain number or institute an app or player cap.
