i wonder if we'll be bombarded with kh characters after the game comes out or if it's been so long that people won't bother.

at this point only the truly devoted are still paying attention to this garbage fire of a series and can even begin to follow its ridiculously convoluted plot enough to rp from it, so i expect an initial rush of primarily nostalgia accounts being brought back to life and then it'll die down again

either way, i'm glad it's finally over (i say this now, but of course they'll come out with a thousand more stupid spinoffs because nomura loves easy money)

p sure nomura has said that the franchise will continue beyond kh3, though it'll probably involve other characters. we'll never truly escape kh.

Like I'll be the first to admit I'm bitter about some stuff. But I enjoy the franchise and it had a major affect on my life as a kid. I readily wear my nostalgia goggles in preparation, knowing full well the plot is only gonna get worse.

As someone who's been reviewing the series I don't get the interpretation that Kingdom Hearts "went" crazy. It almost immediately becomes batshit insane.

I'm still kinda breathless when I remember this is the series where Mickey Mouse hides his identity by wearing a trenchcoat.

the crazy is part of what makes it fun. if you're legitimately blistered about the story being as dumb and needlessly complicated as it is and not just laughing along with the rest of us, idk what to tell you

Mickey and Riku's disguises make a lot more sense when you learn they're using it against a creature that can't differentiate an image of a thing from the actual thing.

But making sense doesn't mean it isn't funny as hell.

That only applied to the data Twilight Town, though, because since Roxas had been converted to data, he and his photos WERE kinda the same thing. Although I guess that might not make a difference, since the Dusks were inside the simulation and not, like, examining the code, so never mind.

In the comic they mistake Kairi for another dusk because she's wiggling like them.

square and disney are doing their best to shill the game out to everyone. there’s a new generation of disney weebs that’s going to love the ability to ~TRAVEL TO DISNEY WORLDS!!~ and plus rereleasing the remasters means it’s finally fucking possible to play through the series on one console, 18 years later.

any hardcore fan worth their salt knows the plot is a hot mess but lol if you think it won’t sell like hot cakes and only the diehard fans will buy it

hell, i've only played about an hour into the first game over a decade ago, and knowing that i can get every single game on one console is a reason i'm saving up for a ps4

i don't care if the plot is a hot mess, i barely know anything about kh, but seeing so many people so excited for it and always being curious about it, i'm gonna fucking go for it

It may be the worst for you, but if ayrt is excited about kh, let them have this. Don't rain on their parade. Maybe they'll discover other exclusives they love as much or more.

my bets on kh rp having a short revival run that dies within six months

Depends what you define as a revival run, because in the last year I've already seen more KH rpers than I have in a long time. There will probably be a bigger uptick after the game comes out, but I doubt the rp fandom will reach its previous heights.
