you could still try contacting them again! you don't have to give the absurd paranoia explanation, just say work/real life ate you and you dropped the ball hard on rp in general for a while. just apologzie and say you'd like to pick the thread back up or start something new if they don't mind. if they're still into it and were enjoying the thread then i'm sure they'd be just as excited to get back into it.
