lmao no. you can set your campaign wherever the fuck you want. it's only "default" in the sense that the pre-generated starter campaigns are set there, and its lore peppers the guidebook.
canon implies it's the *only* setting. it's not and never was. it's just the most popular/most officially developed one. there are other campaign settings that are just as official and "canon" by the definition you seem to be working with.
furthermore, TAZ may have started with one of the preset starter campaigns, but it's gone so way far off the rails that it would be impossible to actually fit TAZ into the given FR universe. a lot of D&D campaigns are like this even if they do start in FR. they become their own worlds, deeply unique from FR.
