If you don't like a game with a metaplot that might put your character in an uncomfy position, don't app to games with metaplots.

Like, I sympathize with people who want to play out their SOL quietly, but you can't always have a conflict free opt-out when the plot is supposed to be gamewide and impossible to ignore ICly. I'm sure everybody's going to get plenty of time for cupcake parties and cuddle piles later on.
