cursed ✹ a fantasy action consequence game ✹


PREMISE
First is the door of sleep. Sleep offers us a retreat from the world and all its pain. Sleep marks passing time, giving us distance from the things that have hurt us. This is the mind's way of protecting itself from pain by stepping through the first door. Second is the door of time. Many memories are simply painful, and there is healing to be done. The saying 'time heals all' is false. Time heals most. The rest are hidden behind this door. Third is the door of madness. There are times when the mind is dealt such a blow that it hides itself in insanity. While this may not seem beneficial, it is. Last is the door of conjury. The final resort. Nothing can hurt us after we are passed, or so we have been told.

And above all, watch with glittering eyes this whole new world around you.

Through the doors of consequence and into Sulim, covered in ice and an unstable atmosphere, civilization has adapted and spread out over floating cities: Muitos Uso, The Torri Isles, and Ruina. Once an amalgamate of enlightenment and peace, a violent act of nature split one into three. Time forced each new city to develop rules and governments of their own, but one belief stood solid:

No great decision of importance will be made without the test of truth and consequence.

As there are no longer any impartial witnesses to hear and decide, a conjurer opened the doors and brought in the neutral and Unswayed, cursing them. They are offered a home in any of the three cities and given the best that city has to offer. When the moon is full, leaders from the three cities hold a meeting that the Unswayed are called to attend. The leaders put forth their proposed acts. The Unswayed listen. They converse. They question. And then they choose, majority either casting the act aside or allowing it to be begin.

When you permit an action, you accept the consequences of that action. When you desire a consequence, you had damned well better have thought it through.

CURSED is a panfandom fantasy game where characters directly effect the outcome of the world and its three floating cities with elements of exploration, action and consequence, crack, horror, and more to be included.


CURSED
Each character is pulled into the game setting from their world and will pass through the doors. When they wake, it'll be in a neutral area between the three cities, and they will have a word marked onto their body. This word is their 'curse' and is a side effect of magic and its imperfections. It is permanent, on the forearm, and cannot be removed. Players can choose to use the workshop after they are accepted into the game to decide the effects of their cursed word or may decide on their own. The word is given to the player during acceptance and can be re-rolled one time. Characters are called the Unswayed or Cursed, depending on who is speaking about them.
