how fast do you guys think the app cap will fill up?

i wonder if we'll be one of those games where more existing players take up spots than new players.

i hope not. everyone is only allowed 1 app, so that means 60 separate players. we'll see how many of those are returning or not, but my hope is we get a good intake of new blood.

I'm not too concerned about it. 60 individuals is a lot, and while I'm sure we'll get some established players apping, I think we'll have more newbies than "oldbies" (since the game isn't that old.) The ATP meme is over 1000 fewer comments than the first one, which is a good sign that it's losing some shiny syndrome.

i'm side-eying someone with 3 chars in the game already putting a 4th on the tdm. i'm all for 'oldbies' having another char in, but if you have 3, maybe sit the fuck down.

is the cap not 3 characters? they're probably thinking of dropping one

but it's not a capped game. apps are capped to keep mods from having to judge over 100+ apps per round, but the game itself doesn't have a limit yet.

"While the number of characters a player may have in game was previously left to player discretion, the limit has been capped at three (3) characters per player. Those with more than three (3) characters presently will be grandfathered in. Due to the application cap, we will no longer be having reserves."

that's still not what "capped game" refers to: a game where there's a hard limit on how many characters total can be in game at once, like futurology. an app cap and a per-player limit aren't the same as a capped game.

Yeah idk this person but I know a few of my friends have posted just to voice test and don't plan on apping.

personally i think the mods should make a rule that players already in the game have to wait x amount of time after apps opening before they can submit, be it an hour, six, or a day

give the new blood their shot first

no mod would ever put in a rule like this.

while we all like to think it'd great to let everyone have the opportunity to play, for mods, more players means more work. it's significantly easier to mod a game of 100 character spread over 50 players than a game of 100 characters spread over 100 players.
