not anymore. i used d_m a bunch in my first couple years of rping back on lj because i was into that "muses speaking to you in the headspace" idea. but i actually had some issues blending ic/ooc back then, which using d_m likely didn't help at all, so now i'm pretty cautious of it and avoid that kind of thing.

No. The entire concept seems kinda dated, and it was weird even back in the day. I don't really look at them unless someone points out an ultra-rare castmate or something.

i was into popular canon until it became basically all a significant portion of my plurk list talked about. now i'm burned out and mad that i'm burned out because i liked it and the character i played from it.

How do you avoid breaking the fourth wall in that format?

I don't talk to myself? I mean, it's possible to have your character comment vaguely on the situation but still be IC and not reference "my player" or "you" (as in the writer). I basically treat it like a loose open log, where you can do quick action tags and don't need quotation marks.

Oh, and if someone replying to me mentions players or "muns" I just have my character totally ignore it.

um... you do realize that breaking the fourth wall is the whole point of those comms, right? dear player/mun. not 'dear talking to myself ironically'. ignoring people bringing up a part of the comm makes you kind of in the wrong here, anon.

Plenty of people do what I do because memes fucking suck, and I don't like messing around on TDMs with no intent to app.

i'm wondering how to go about doing navigation/premise graphics, that sort of nonsense for new rp games. i've never actuallu done them before so i was hoping there was maybe some kind of tutorial someone made or maybe even like, a skeleton/base i can edit.

This was me a couple years ago. Keep your mouth shut, you'll feel better about it later. Wanking on someone requires deets and you might inadvertently cause even more drama for your friends.

Let karma bite them in the ass when everyone figures it out and drops them like a hot potato later on. It's infuriating to wait but worth it. I saw my friends' wanky shit "friend" up and quit DWRP after everyone called them on it.

Everyone thinks this is so silly and stupid but hype fatigue is real and has killed my interest in a lot of canons/characters I liked or RPed. Sorry it's happening to you.
