- go to the shrine in Kakariko Village ASAP, where you learn advanced combat moves and flurry rush combos for dodging and parrying. Get good at them and fights become hundreds of times easier.

- do not be afraid to run like a coward. Enemies are cheap and will gang up on you. If you can't go in with a good strategy or approach, even easy fights turn into a clusterfuck. Some areas are definitely harder than others and contain meaner enemies that hit harder. Some monsters are scaled way beyond you and are not necessarily meant to be defeated yet, unless you are incredibly skilled at dodging.

- do not be afraid to be cheap yourself. Electricity, ice, and fire work on enemies just like they work on you. Set traps with bombs and bomb barrels, or use your runes to use the environment. Dark Souls rules apply here: if you win, you win, no matter how cheaply or undignified you go about it. I stood on a cliff and pelted a Talus with bombs for 20 minutes one time.

- leave guardians the fuck alone. They are major assholes and will kill you dead with ease for a long time. I'm up to 15 heart containers and only just now cool enough to kill them.

- USE THE BUFFS. Gather ingredients and make food and elixirs whenever you can. Work on upgrading your clothing as soon as you can, and buy clothes for each different "extreme" condition (cold, heat, being on fire.)

- like the other person said, your dungeon prizes in the Goron and Zora Divine Beasts are incredibly helpful and even the playing field in a big way. I think the Rito beast is meant to be the easiest, but the Goron one isn't all that much more difficult. For the Zora beast, do not fight the Lynel to get shock arrows... buy them from somewhere or just sneak around and steal them from the Lynel.

the game does get easier as your weapons and equipment improve, so have heart! It is a much, much more difficult Zelda game than I've played since basically the original one, so dying constantly seems to be par for the course.

i love peeling dead/dry skin off my lips which is common enough, but the fact is that i make that skin myself. i bite my lips so bad i often make a big sore on them, sometimes more than one. it looks really gross, like some contagious disease for maybe 3-4 days, but then i get skin to peel off. i always just rip it off with my teeth. it hurts but feels so satisfying at the same time.

i do the same to the skin on my thumbs, right under the outward-facing edge of the nail. i'll just sort of dig at it til it gets dry and then tear the skin off. this never really hurts but it feels awesome to pull it off.

I'm the same way. Like, there are some things that I like crunchy. (Even if nothing comes to mind immediately) but for the most part, if it can be softer I like it soft.

probably my favorite part of the lip thing is when the sore is healed so it doesn't really hurt anymore, but it's just a big lump of dead skin, and you can basically gnaw on it as hard as you want and it doesn't hurt. i love biting it all day

then you finally open it up and it might bleed a bit but the skin is all loose and you get to peel it off

hey, i'd advise against this. it's really unlikely, but giving away names is technically against dreamwidth TOS and whoever owns the account is able to claim they were stolen, hence someone potentially being permabanned from dw. again, i'm not saying you'd do this, but announcing it in public is probably not a good idea. i would advertise on plurk or something instead. that's what i do.

it is worth noting, but i have been doing this for the last few posts. no one is obligated to take me up on this.

i can promise you that i wouldn't be doing such a thing.

So about 10 years ago I think, there was an RP game on Gaia Online with the premise of people getting kidnapped and taken to an island where they would be experimented on, periodically given 'shots' that would slowly turn them into animals (or even animals combined to make approximations of mythological creatures, or even plants). The art was fantastic and it was such a cool premise, for some reason I never had the opportunity to join. I'd love to do a game like that here. By the way, what would be the etiquette about straight-out 'borrowing' an idea like this? I wouldn't even know how or who to give credit to, but I'd love to because its such a great idea.

For this game here however I think it could work out well as a short-term game, with each 'Session' lasting a month, and at the beginning of each week the characters would get their 'shots' and have the freedom to do with that as they will, for a total of 4 'treatments' until complete transformation. So after that, the round of the game will end, and a new cast can app (maybe a 2-week or 1-month in-between period) but also the completely transformed characters are free to stick around the island.

Or conversely this could be a long-term game with each treatment lasting a month, for a 6-month period, or something completely open-ended.

Also there could be events like, characters opt-in for a treatment to go wrong so they get a mutated version of an animal, or a mish-mashed chimera, or so forth.

now that hd's out and canon review can happen more easily, tentatively looking for a place for jyn erso or cassian andor from rogue one!

some ideas on what i'm looking for:
- no sex games or anything exclusively sol
- slow to medium pace is all good, just nothing super fast
- reasonable/uncomplicated ac requirements
- overarching plot
- sci-fi is probably my preferred genre but i'm open to looking into others, too!
- open to considering AUs
