i set up a community and a bunch of rough ideas of premise/navigation/faq/rules etc posts for a game that i'll never open because... i like to waste my time.
but if I could make a game it would be one very loosely based on Trickster Online. Your characters are offered the chance to participate in the Trickster Contest, and willingly accept. Their world is known to them to be on 'pause' while they're gone, so basically there's never any 'where am i, what do??' needed. (there would also be a handful of NPCs to talk to any time.)
The contest takes place on a big (mostly tropical) island, with safe towns and monster dungeons/dangerous fields connecting them, so all characters are in competition, but also need to work together to open up access to more and more areas. there would be plenty of chance for slice-of-life, because technically your character could join the contest just for a break from home, or to dick around and mess with people. they could just plop down and chill in a safe zone. originally the contest is just a long-term slow-run scavenger hunt, and the reward is the entire wealth of the president of the company - meaning you inherit the company, a fuckton of money, and the island itself. you also get one unlimited wish, to entice characters who don't really want that prize.
but on arrival your characters find out that the president is missing, so along-side the scavenger hunt, there's a mystery plot that requires character action and effort to solve, because without the president, you ain't gettin' the prize even if you win the contest.
i'm kind of partial to it being run in a more musebox-y way, without any real apps or meaningful activity checks, just because it's meant to be a leisurely setting. (at the same time, it has a feasible 'end' so it might be better to have confirmed-dedicated players so that it can progress properly.)
ANYWAY i won't do it because I don't think I'd be a good mod alone, and I worry there'd be no interest. So!
