I kind of agree but kind of don't! Of course adult trolls wouldn't be parental towards younger ones under most circumstances, and if anything most of them would probably be actively hostile, but the whole ancestor/descendant thing is this big tradition/legend deal, especially for highbloods, and I can definitely see characters like Mindfang and Dualscar being interested in how their spawn turned out and attempting to steer them in the 'right' direction. Like, I doubt they'd be caring about it, but I don't think it's totally improbable for them to be interested.
I think it's reasonable to have any of the Signless's group take more of a caring approach, some kind of "cool big brother" deal like someone mentioned upthread could easily make sense for the Summoner ... I think with all the others honestly it just depends how you're playing them, like, it might not be "parental" per se but I think that some sort of interest makes sense for most of them – even protectiveness, perhaps? Because although trolls aren't encouraged to behave like that towards children in wider troll society, being presented with what you believe to be your direct genetic progeny is kind of a unique situation? Like, not because their society enshrines any kind of parental roles, because obviously no, but because this is their legacy, this is the troll who is supposed to be taking up their sign, there's gonna be some mentoring going on even if it is kind of terrible.
The only ancestor I'd completely rule it out for is the Condesce, for obvious reasons.
