yeah yeah first come first served but anyone else think it's shitty the mods reserve sniped keith from the player in the tdm. when they already have three characters in the game. and they have a big advantage over other players for something like this.

That Keith was there last round and reserved and didn't app if I remember right. I was watching it cause I was debating apping a voltron last round too. So they had a chance...

I donno which is which tho cause there was a Keith last tmd and there's a different one in the newest tmd.

I just wanted to say, I was the Keith on the last TDM (August was it?). I posted to the TDM, but didn't reserve. I was out of the country and wasn't going to manage an app (so I didn't want to reserve knowing I wasn't going to be able to app).

I was still considering the game with him, but oh well! No biggie.

And yes, I didn't post to this month's TDM, so that is a different Keith!

normally i'd say that reserve sniping isn't a real thing and no one is entitled to a reserve just because they were on the tdm, but it does seem suspicious that the reserves opened 5 minutes earlier than usual and the keith mod reserve is the first one up. it's one thing if reserves open on time and someone gets there first, mod or no mod, but opening them early to sneak in a reserve when they know someone else was interested is a bit sketchy if you ask me.

Tbh I've seen them open earlier and later. I don't think 5 mins is really that big of a deal. The plurk for it went up for it just as fast. I've seen them open an hour early before. With everyone on their asses about being late I'm not surprised. If it is an issue the Keith player should contact the mods. I donno if they were waiting the moment apps opened

people are on them about doing things 'on time'

opening reserves early in a game with no challenge applications is just as egregious as being late with something, if not more. hearing that they've gone up too early several times before makes them look even worse

I admit the Keith thing is strange but getting on them for 5 mins? It could have easily been sniped anyway cause they know when they post it. The plurk notice went up with it. So I really don't think that's the cause or they could have done if last round too.

This mod team isn't going to last. I give the game a year and that's being super generous. Too much shit for mods to put up with. The game is growing to fast for them anyway.

i have seen collective shits over apps/reserves that have opened half a minute early and people that happened to be refreshing early caught it and 'whoa, whoa, the mods fucked up. they should remove those reserves and let people try again', so don't give me this it's never been done before bullshit.

fact of the matter is, if you have a schedule and you're a mod, you stick to it. if you find you or the mod who's supposed to open the posts isn't able to be there on time, you find a new mod or temporarily pass it off to another mod so that the scheduled time is the scheduled time. because yes, people do refresh early or camp out if they're really fucking hot to get in a game and sometimes it can come down to who hits post first as to who gets accepted/a reserve spot. this is doubly shady that it's the mod who opened who happened to be the first reserve when the post was put up early. regardless of if they plurked it at 'literally the same time', all they had to do was have another tab open with the comment in and post it when it opened. or edit post, open reserves, have a cp reserve thing ready and have it posted in the edited post as soon as they were done. it would take literally seconds.

if you're a mod and you want to reserve a character, i'm not saying you have to sit and wait for an hour in case anyone else is interested. but don't open them up early and be the first one to shoot your load within seconds of it opening. it looks bad, it is bad, and it certainly doesn't inspire confidence in their ability to be fair.

i'm hoping they do because i love this game. but as the game's growing, the playerbase is displaying more entitlement for whatever reason. i think the mod team might eventually decide dealing with it is more trouble than it's worth. and tbh i wouldn't blame them.

i think after this app round, the mods need to consider a player cap like snowblind's and/or switching to less frequent app rounds. imo, they're a good mod team. there are some things they do that i wish they wouldn't but none of it's deal breaking.

nobody's displaying more entitlement. these mods were unprepared for a large game from the very start and it's coming back to bite them in the ass now. i'm not saying they're bad mods and they're obviously making efforts to take care of the game as it grows but the things that weren't so noticeable in the beginning are getting more and more difficult to tolerate now. people calling out problems when they see them isn't entitlement.

see, now, if you asked me what that was, i wouldn't say reserve sniping. i'd say it's abuse of mod power. they opened apps early and stole a slot. no one else has that ability outside of mods, so it's less 'someone got there before me' and more 'someone actively changed the reserve time to get in before anyone'. that's legit and probably the only case of 'reserve sniping' i've seen, and again, it's mod abuse.

if mod knew from get go they wanted to app a keith why would they hold off? the fact they already have three characters is a bigger issue to me than when reserves was up and placed

i did a screed already about why early is a bad thing. when you add in the fact that they pushed a new rule to get a 4th char and then took advantage of their mod status to post early and get the first reserve in, it looks shitty. sorry. don't defend your mods over something this obvious.

no, it's not. your mods are sneaky assholes who snuck reserves open early so they could put their reserves in first. have fun with that.

rl factors and new keith muse both come to mind as for reasons why they would have held off until this round

i agree that they already have three characters they're often falling behind with is a much bigger issue

it's something that needs to be taken to their hmd

I think the point is, with it opening 5 minutes earlier, it might have been done on purpose so the mod could reserve Keith before the other Keith even knew that reserves were up.

If I had been the mod in this case, I would have waited to put my reserve in until after the time reserves were officially open.

they have a link to a clock program that's the same no matter what your computer clock says. what's the point of going through all that trouble and linking it and saying 'this is the time we're going to go by for the game' if you follow that up with 'most of the time. sort of. it's a general idea of what time should be.'?

idc about the 5 minutes thing as much as the fact that the mods are barely present with their umpteen characters as it is. let someone who will do more than one tag a week play the popular fad character.

I don't give a shit about reserve sniping or whatever but the more than three characters per player thing is the stupidest thing they've done yet imo and I'm really annoyed
