Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.
Shut up about Tumblr. If it's not a discussion about Tumblr RP it will be deleted.

ayrt it was a mild petty gripe, but it's not like i'm namedropping people on wankgate over it. it's just ridiculous that many people couldn't take two seconds to fill out a form over the course of a week (minus the people that genuinely needed the extra time to make AC at all). set a google calendar alert or something.

Don't ever follow up a statement with 'but', anon. It makes you sound like a massive PA asshole.

Oh wait.

Really though this is some of the weakest shit to whine about... like, it mildly inconveniences you to have to scroll past an AC warning list, oh god, oh god it might sprain your scrolling finger this is a personal insult!!!
Go out and touch some grass lmao.

lmao its like there's no wank in this game so people have to find something to bitch about. BETTER CRY ABOUT THE AC WARNING LIST!!!!

so fucking weak

right because you don't sound like an asshole with this comment.

it's not about scrolling past the warning list, it's about making extra work for the mods. there are people who literally have had like one month where they're not on the warning list because they can't be assed to put up their ac. it make extra work for the mods. don't be a dick.

Well I was trying to be, so confirmation is making me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

So anyway, you're outraged on behalf of the mods. Yeah that totally makes perfect sense and isn't at all even the slightest bit silly. The mods can address it if they want, but if you feel so strongly on it, maybe, I dunno... leave a comment on some HMDs of the repeat offenders? Goodness gracious what a notion.

But I mean that takes effort so. Might not be your cup of tea.

(Anonymous) 2016-09-04 04:22 am (UTC)(link)
why are you so mad about this? honest question.

(Anonymous) 2016-09-04 04:30 am (UTC)(link)
Not even mad, it's just a perfect opportunity to poke the bear.

Point being: if a long AC warning list is rustling some jimmies, literally all it takes is one second to bring it up on a HMD. Still anon, still bringing up the problem, etc etc que sera sera whatever.

making a venting comment on rpa took a whole lot less time and over-investment than leaving comments on 20 individual hmds.

looks like someone is butthurt about being on this month's warned list

(Anonymous) 2016-09-04 04:29 am (UTC)(link)
looks like someone's butthurt that they're being called out as part of the group who's constantly on the warning list.

okay whoa I don't have much of a horse in this race but maybe dial it back a little. I don't see how the ayrt was being either PA or an asshole. they were just pointing out that the list was really long this month for no particular reason and it's kind of silly? Not really...blaming anyone or calling anyone out...or even being severe about it. They're clearly not taking this personally, like they were so "inconvenienced" so maybe you shouldn't be taking it so personally either.

If you don't think it's that big a deal, why are you turning it into one?

School is starting up again, so anyone with two brain cells could rub them together and maybe figure out that's likely the reason why so many people are on it.

I get the complaints about the same people every month, but with such a large number showing up for one month in particular, and that month being when school starts, it's really kinda silly to be assmad about it enough to come here and complain.

(Anonymous) 2016-09-04 04:18 am (UTC)(link)
dude you are so aggressive, just chill

the main points of the arguments above, as i read them, were:

1. there are certain people who are on the warned list every month

2. the mods also have lives/school/work deadlines, and this causes a ton more unnecessary work for them, especially right before the september app round starts/the calendars go up/all the usual new month minutia happens. it's just silly for that many people to be on the warned list in such a small game.

Re: also da

(Anonymous) 2016-09-04 04:50 am (UTC)(link)
Not even slightly aggressive. I mean, if you think this is aggressive, I feel sorry for you. Do you run away in fear of leaves that blow by, too? I just wonder your scale of aggressiveness or danger.

I also said I understood that first point, so good job there buddy.

And no one is saying the mods don't. The point was that shit happens, a lot of people were busy this month for whatever reason (whether some were lazy, some had school, or cons, whatever), and so the AC warning list got big. The world keeps turning, shit happens. If the mods had such an issue with it, they could easily say something themselves, instead of this anon coming here like a whiny child over something relatively minor.

is it school for all/most of them, though? or is it con stuff? or other things that always crop up during the year. you can't point at any one time of the year and not have something to say about why someone's slow. some people are just shitty at keeping up with schedules.

Re: da

(Anonymous) 2016-09-04 04:54 am (UTC)(link)
Either way, people got busy this month. Could be school, could be work, could be cons. Either way, this is typically seen as a busy time of the year for people, primarily because of school or school related things.

I am not ruling out the possibility that some of the people fucked off and were lazy, I'm merely saying that there might possibly be a correlation between the time of year it is and the fact there's an unusual big amount of people on the AC warning list, is all. People could give others the benefit of the doubt in that regard, instead of coming to an anon comm to complain uselessly about shit no one is gonna take seriously.

I do completely understand your point! Although, last month's list was really long, too. This one definitely took the cake, but July still had somewhere around 15 or so people on the list, and only 1 drop to show for it.

I think that's what makes it especially concerning that it's a bad habit over just it being that it's nearing the start of the school year. I don't think that this topic of conversation was meant to be overly aggressive by anyone who pointed it out as much as just pointing out that it could be something to be more mindful of by the overall playerbase.

Now see, if OP were worded like this I might've actually taken them seriously.

That's absolutely true, and I agree something needs to be done, but on the other hand complaining on an anon comm where it's unlikely to do any good... might not be the best way of going about it? It's great to vent and whatnot, but it's gonna happen again next month, with the same people, and then OP is going to make another starter topic with another complaint, and so on and so on.

You gotta address the root of the problem. If an anon has the time and persistence to keep feeding the trolls, they undoubtedly can do something productive about it in the same timeframe.
But that's just my two cents.

(Anonymous) 2016-09-04 06:43 pm (UTC)(link)
i've made two comments in this entire thread. "feeding the trolls" and assuming this is a topic i'll make over and over again is a bit much.

(Anonymous) 2016-09-05 07:20 am (UTC)(link)
the fact you made this a thing at all says worlds about ya buddy

(Anonymous) 2016-09-04 04:45 am (UTC)(link)
Honestly, I think the problem lies in the fact that OP was being snarky in their original post. like saying it all "is it really that hard" is gonna get backlash or reactions that aren't necessarily going to go in anyway that's conducive to them attempting to tell people to be mindful for the mods, esp when they're coming across as asspained.

Not saying the reactions are necessarily right, but yeah.
