rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. 1) it really isn't necessary imo,

2) most of the ToS2 hate is completely pointless if you ask me. it's a solid, nice game that may have a little awkward battle system (but honestly that applies to every Tales of for me since how do i controls), but other than that, it feels like most of the whining comes from butthurt purists who can't stand that the old cast plays the more supportive (albeit extremely important) roles rather than being the main focus.

i hear there's something about VA changes that get people raging but i don't play eng dub so idk about that.

i personally enjoyed the sequel a lot. the battle system was fun, i liked the new characters, and it did a good job of showing the effects that reuniting sylvarant and tethe'alla had on the world and the people.

like the above anon said, most of the rage was over va changes (which wasn't even the fault of namco or the vas, it was due to union stuff) and the fact that the main cast wasn't the stars of the show, which again was fine because the sequel wasn't about them.

Played the sequel in Japanese, so VA changes don't apply to me, and I don't mind that the old cast got 'supportive' roles because they still show up in the game to steal the show plenty. It's as much their story as it is Emil's.

I disliked the game because I couldn't stand certain writing choices (especially when it comes to characterization, both for new characters and old ones), along with the cheap gameplay elements. Don't actively hate the game, just don't like it.
