we're gonna see if they heal up by themselves in a bit, but if they don't, it's off to the specialist with me

i've always been HoH, though, so I really hope this dip in my hearing isn't permanent i can't hear for shit

fwiw, hearing aids are really great these days? my grandpa had his hearing absolutely fucked in 'nam and as long as his hearing aid is on, he can hear and talk normally if kind of loud

otherwise you can do like he does when his hearing aid is off and YELL EVERYTHING

If you can afford it I wouldn't put off being seen by an ENT or at least going to a clinic for some antibiotics to clear up the infection. My eardrum ruptured once and it took like...3 weeks or so to be able to hear normally again, and the fluid buildup never really drained from the ear so I had infections again and again after that until I went to an ENT who suctioned it out and put a tube in. Now I don't have any more problems but I probably should have just gone to an ENT in the first place.

Just adding, the hearing loss will not be permanent. It'll take some time to come back but your eardrums should heal up fine as long as the infection clears up.
