If you can afford it I wouldn't put off being seen by an ENT or at least going to a clinic for some antibiotics to clear up the infection. My eardrum ruptured once and it took like...3 weeks or so to be able to hear normally again, and the fluid buildup never really drained from the ear so I had infections again and again after that until I went to an ENT who suctioned it out and put a tube in. Now I don't have any more problems but I probably should have just gone to an ENT in the first place.
