I don't know what you can infer from this. Did I switch because the font was too small, or did I switch because it looked the same and everyone else was using it?

tt is definitely too small as rendered on this site.

i actually meant when we started changing the font for text posts at all, not what precise code we use

when i first started rping (when dinosaurs roamed the earth) we didn't change the font for text posts - at most, maybe we'd change for handwritten notes

Considering the comm we're on, googling isn't always a great idea in this case. The context of the comment gave no indications of what it could be and would work for speaking of people into some new fad canon that is not as likely to be the first result in google since our fad canons aren't always mainstream enough.

I think it started happening around when Homestuck was really popular to RP from.

ugh. i had to deal with more than one of those types of people a while ago. you'll be fine on memes, and thank you for sticking to only them and not games. you don't know how exhausting and unfun it is to deal with 4+ canonmates who hate the canon and fandom, and constantly bitch about it.

it almost killed my interest in the series.

I miss them. It was so easy to avoid players you didn't like in them since you just didn't friend their journal and could mostly pretend they didn't exist.

i've been using courier for text posts since 2007-8 or so, and i picked it up from other players, so i was not the only one

i started doing it in games where there were multiple network comm options. early polychromatic, for one?

you'd have some video posts or audio posts written in default font, and text posts done in courier to express the fact that they were icly words on a screen

Keeping up on add/remove lists was such a pain in the ass, though. And then there was the difficulty of getting started in a game when half the playerbase hadn't added you by the time you made your first post...

They did have their pluses, though. I wish we still had the option, even if they're not my personal preference.
