this canon really can't die soon enough.

eh. the fans are annoying but the show itself is really good.

I put off giving it a listen because of the fans, but the show is genuinely good and deserving of the praise it gets.

But the fandom can't die soon enough.

The show is really good and everything is catchy but man it's not just the fans and fandom that make it off putting. The creator himself is a enough of a pompous prick that I just want it suffer and become cancerous.

basically anything he gave as a reason for why no male or female-whities allowed as a lead was a load of crock and I'm glade that the Actors Equity board got involved behind the scene.

i don't go here but i figured it was only a matter of time until they got in trouble for that

I feel like no one is understanding how big of a deal this is to the theatre community as a whole. (coming from someone who is trained in production design)

Actor's Equity has been in the hole for years, they just now made it so any actor in the union has to be paid min wage no matter what the production and have to have a set amount of hours. Which is a big win considering before that it's work for free till you manage enough hours to get into the stage actor's guild or other groups that can get you bigger jobs. It's why they say being an actor can't pay the bills, the same thing was happening to other areas like run crews, wardrobe ect ect.

I'm not saying boo down with white actors, I'm just saying theatre as a whole is hard to work in so limiting it even more isn't the best way to go about it.

Yeah, you're right about the actors. They have a sucky time of it. The stagehands, though? You know why most shows don't have real set changes anymore? Because the stagehand union made it too damn expensive. One set change can cost thousands to tens of thousands of dollars in pay per night. It's a racket. Not everyone in the theater industry is suffering.
