rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

honestly i don't think most people are aware of just how difficult it is to get on disability, even if you're legit. especially if it's mental health, because of the "lol you're not really disabled just try harder!" mentality

exactly. this shit doesn't actually happen outside of very few rare, isolated cases. the welfare queen myth is yet another wonderful legacy of good ol' ronnie reagan meant to paint poor people as deserving of scorn and hate from people only slightly better off than them.

Uh, it's actually not a myth. The system has loopholes and people do abuse them and it's not a few rare, isolated cases. In some areas it's actually very common. One loophole that is very often abused is a woman not marrying the father of her children and failing to report any support he provides. That's actually not an uncommonly abused loophole.

and black women have lots of kids so they can get a ton of welfare, and mexicans cross the border and apply to their closest welfare office and are immediately given a free house, medical care, and a shiny new iphone. we've heard them all.

don't be naive, anon. there are people who game the system. does that mean we should do away with it forever, because a few people are taking advantage of it? no. just because there are a couple rotten apples in the bin doesn't mean we need to toss the whole thing. but don't act like it doesn't happen

and there are a good half dozen cases of in person voter fraud every election, too, better devote resources to solving that non-problem while we're at it.
