Rundown:

rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

I find someone trying to be funny when they have no sense of humour more cringe inducing, but smart is a close second.

Nothing makes me drop a thread faster than someone thinking they're being hilarious when all they're writing is that painful forced humor which doesn't land right at all.

= I'm so proud of myself for judging others for minor mistakes. I drop threads right and left if there's even a hint of a thing I don't like.

a VERY close second

I think for me it's easier to handle that because humor is subjective, so I can just say my character doesn't find the same things funny. Facts are facts.

It's usually not that bad the first time. Comedy is subjective. Maybe we don't have the same sense of humor.

But when the player tries the same tired joke over and over again and then plurks about how hilarious their character is? Abort mission.
