Trapped in the city of one loo

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.
Shut up about Tumblr. If it's not a discussion about Tumblr RP it will be deleted.

Ask your vet about it, anon. They can give you a more educated answer than anything you'll find here, on TVm or through google.

That being said, apparently the main ingredient (and only active one) is cedar oil. Here's a good resource from a veterinarian about organic alternatives to vet recommended F/T, like cedar oil and garlic: http://www.boltonvet.com/?p=645

From the same resource, here's a list of products vets prefer (including advantix/advantage, nexgard, revolution, etc): http://www.boltonvet.com/?p=359

Note that even though they're expensive, you don't need a RX for these products. So the vets aren't recommended Advantage over Wondercide because they're making money off it, but because they actually believe the former is safer and more effective for your pet. Considering you have to spray the wondercide every day for it to be effective, it might actually be cheaper to pay the $15/month for the topical or pill, even if it seems from a distance like a $25 bottle is cheaper than a $115 box of twelve.

Speaking of price, the cheapest prices for F/T are always online, not at the vet. Here's one of my favorite: http://www.drsfostersmith.com

Again, the best thing to do is ask your vet and see what they recommend. Thanks for caring enough to take good care of your pet, anon. Good luck this warm-weather season!

Always discuss treatments for your pets with a vet. They have access to your dog's health records and can help you make a decision.
