rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

it's not nearly as bad as the anons portray it. anons in every game thread exaggerate, not just this one.

but hey, if you're ~afraid~ to take the chance due to a few spoiled anons, that's your loss.

It's things like this that make people's hesitance have nothing to do with fear and everything to do with even the supposedly "reasonable" people at your game often sounding like whiny assholes. You could've stopped at the first line but then you had to be a baby and add the snideness of the second one. Then you wonder why more and more people wouldn't touch your game with a 50 foot pole.

It's not their loss. There is absolutely nothing to lose and everything to gain in avoiding playing with oversensitive titfants. If you really want to not scare people off, maybe can the sarcasm and hyperdefensiveness over your cesspit of a game and they might consider it.

exactly this. it's not about being "afraid", it's having a finite amount of time for rp and not wanting to waste it on a game with this kind of atmosphere from the players or in a game with possible mod/player tension. perhaps it's not as bad as anons depict on rpa or wg, but i have a much better chance of having a good time in a game that doesn't have these kind of wanky discussions.

plus there's no way of telling from an outside perspective whether it's just a few, highly vocal bad apples spoiling the whole bushel or not.

as anons have said, it has nothing to do with fear and everything to do the fact that your game, like it or not, has a reputation for a toxic playerbase and incompetent mods. from the outside, the cons of apping to ryslig vastly outweigh the pros. if you want new blood to app in, discussing your game in a more positive light might go a long way to making it look more appealing to others.

after all, if the regular players in the game never seem to be happy with anything, how could a prospective apper expect to be?
