rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

is "gypped" not sjw friendly now? i must have missed that somewhere

It's a word derived from 'gypsy'. It means you were scammed, as if by a gypsy, so you were 'gypped'. Very racist origins.

I was not aware of the origins of this word! Probably because I didn't know how to spell it (I thought it was spelled "jipped"). Seeing it spelled that way makes it more obvious to me now, but damn. I had no idea.

Not that I have a need for that word often, but definitely phasing out my use of it.

you'd be surprised how many people use gypped and jewed without thinking where they originate from or that they're completely racist.
