rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

No, it's not a sex game! As mentioned in he explanation for applications it's more there for characters that may require more explanation. It's not a huge deal, but it helps us see the grasp someone has on a character.

We can remove it if it seems problematic, though!

it might be best since unless you're playing a sex game, there's no reason for an application to have anything about gender or orientation. that has zero to do with playability and in cases with no direct proof of either and people going on headcanon only, that just leaves a lot of possibility for nitpicking and bias over who has the 'right' interpretation, especially since there's no call for it. most sex games might have what gender they are, but even a majority of them haven't bothered with asking about orientation since that can be (and arguably should be) fluid in a sex game.

it's less that it's problematic and more that it's unnecessary given the context of the game.

just to add to that, but most people that have certain wants/needs about their character address them in their intro post. 'hi, this is blah blah playing doodly and they prefer to go by these gender roles and hey, they like the ladies and the gents'. i mean, unless it's something like dice dice baby's uterass omega au bullshit that they willfully snuck in without saying was an au, you're not going to come across anyone playing transgender versions of canon chars.
