Got to give a shoutout to the Undertale cast. I'm canon blind, but I've never seen a collective group of people in any game so interested in tagging out and also genuinely interested in my character's issues and my canon.

I wasn't in game when someone tried to run them out, but all of them are speedy taggers and great writers and I wouldn't be having anywhere near as much fun if they weren't in it.

So is this a horror game or...? I have some friends in it and their plurks about it look very horror-oriented. I'm considering apping, but I'm pretty burnt out on grimdark everything is bad all the time games.

More importantly: how's the player base? Friendly? Decent-to-good writers?

Very friendly playerbase, mixed bag of writing quality. There are horror elements to the game (the ship itself is mysterious and has shady things on it), but it's not a huge focus. There's a lot of humor and some exploration mixed in.

I'd encourage you to glance over some of the event catchalls on the log community and see if it's your kind of thing. The test drive prompts are also a good feel for the mix of the game.

Writers are decent to very good, everyone's been super welcoming. It's one of those games that has a bit of everything, so there might be a bit of horror right now with scraplets on the ship, but we've had dating events and communicator errors and sky whale hunts and other sol/lighthearted/adventury plots.

Basically, if you're not into the genre you're seeing right now, just wait a couple weeks.

how would a person 100% ignorant in modern technology or any kind of magic fare here?

They might need a crash course since there's the ubiquitous network device on their wrist and a lot of magic users, but people here seem to love explaining things to newbs and helping them out. Make a note on your OOC intro and the offers will come in. I had no trouble getting by, and my character sucks at tech.

And if you or anyone is seriously considering apping, do it this month. After March we go to every other month app cycles.
