Pass the damn ham, please

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.
Shut up about Tumblr. If it's not a discussion about Tumblr RP it will be deleted.

Depends tbh. Koestl did say that while Shining Night is a possibility, it'd be easier for MG to justify the localization costs if the Gahkthun sold which it didn't: https://ask.fm/koestl/answers/133074203957

There are at least a few other MG staff who are fans of the Steampunk series so they could try to push for it, but it'd probably be easier if at least one game from the Steampunk series sold first before MG can consider the possibility of Shining Night being profitable enough to take the risk.

Are the other Steampunk titles as explicit as Gahkthun? By that I mean do they have a better chance at a Steam release than Gahkthun did? I know Sona-Nyl has a port.

I... admit Gahkthun is the only game in the series I've played so I wouldn't really know writing-wise. However, here's what I can comment on visual-wise in no particular order (NSFW and contains spoilers):

- Shining Night. Definitely waaaay more explicit than Gahkthun and has no chance of making it to Steam. There aren't any visible genitalia, but there are CGs with visible bodily fluids:

http://g.e-hentai.org/s/017b1542e1/644113-103

- Hikari no Valusia. You've got visible nipples (http://g.e-hentai.org/s/4120d533ba/178123-13 & http://g.e-hentai.org/s/3cbf05f8ed/178123-74) which Valve might let them get away with like they did with Kindred Spirits. However, there are at least a few scenes like these from what I could find:

http://g.e-hentai.org/s/72cc19c527/178123-80
http://g.e-hentai.org/s/9cd3a77722/178123-31
http://g.e-hentai.org/s/a906602ee2/178123-96
http://g.e-hentai.org/s/aa406fb395/178123-56

Valve may or may not be okay with it, but I can't say for sure.

- Shikkoku no Sharnoth. This is as explicit as it gets so far as I can tell:

http://g.e-hentai.org/s/d78d33bace/87613-119
http://g.e-hentai.org/s/a35cdad6c0/445207-197 & http://g.e-hentai.org/s/408966a1dc/445207-209

- Sekien no Inganock. There is a see-through clothing shot of a character who looks particularly young in this CG:

http://g.e-hentai.org/s/ad54fdcb72/445202-54

And she does get a sex scene apparently (Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong), but only her nipples are visible:

http://g.e-hentai.org/s/8568bcddfb/445202-72

It might be able to make the cut on Steam like the Nekopara bath scene did (Though that scene had convenient steam to cover up the nipples), but who knows.

Also, this might or might not be okay: http://g.e-hentai.org/s/3c11d54eaa/445202-39

- Souten no Celenaria. Way more explicit than Gahkthun and Shining Night. The game has visible genitalia and body fluids so there's no chance of it making it to Steam:

http://g.e-hentai.org/s/06538334f4/445395-14
http://g.e-hentai.org/s/7c5737b270/445395-46

- Shiei no Sona-Nyl. Has an all-ages port, but the PC version does have scenes like this:

http://g.e-hentai.org/s/54f19815c8/636168-185
http://g.e-hentai.org/s/a9444ac770/636168-217
http://g.e-hentai.org/s/e2ca459c9f/636168-243 (Then again, this was allowed on Steam: http://g.e-hentai.org/s/29d7addf4f/885205-7)

Thank you so much! I think out of all these, Sona-Nyl has the best shot since it actually has a port. But that's only if Mangagamer can get the assets to the port for a fair price. And if Liar-Soft is willing to give out a license for another vn in the Steampunk series.

I think it's possible especially with how well Kindred Spirits did on Steam. That may give them some incentive to at least give it a shot.

The young girl in Inganock doesn't have any sex scenes, fortunately! I still think it was sort of strange to draw the CG that way (as opposed to uh, any way that would've made it more clear what was going on), but they're actually just feeling each other's heartbeats.

Outside of Gahkthun('s fandisc) and Celenaria, the rest of the games aren't very explicit at all; Lily's (in Sona-Nyl) age is kind of dubious, but it has a console port they could theoretically work with.
