Pass the damn ham, please

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.
Shut up about Tumblr. If it's not a discussion about Tumblr RP it will be deleted.

Can't speak for Pygmalion (I think it looks cool and I'm glad for a yurige that probably won't put me to sleep, but I don't know anything about it and there being three scenario writers is kind of scary), but Tokyo Babel is written by Higashide so I'm willing to bet it's pretty fun if nothing else.

Gare and Conjueror both looked excited to work on it too, and they usually have good taste.

There really needs to be more yurige with more meat to them than girls fall in love fluff. It just gets so boring.

This so, so much.

Honestly, the only reason I'm interested in Shadows of Pygmalion is because it's a yurige with a plot that isn't high school slice-of-life shenanigans. I don't mind high school slice-of-life if done well (Kindred Spirits was charming imo) every now and then, but an action-based yurige in English is a nice breath of fresh air for me.

Same. I don't mind high school shenanigans or fluffy schoolgirls falling in love every so often. It's just disappointing that when it comes to yurige, there doesn't seem to be a lot of variety or plotty vns.

I'd also love some yurige that focus on adult women.

When Japan grows out of their obsession with teen protags, maybe.

Though, in general, I generally agree with everything you're saying. I just want my murder mystery yurige featuring a grown-ass woman ~with a past~ working as a detective or steampunk plot-focused yurige that isn't about hot girl-on-girl action.

AYRT

I know the reason why they stick with teen protags, especially for yuri, but it doesn't make it any less frustrating.

I'm kinda disappointed that Innocent Grey didn't go with that route for Flowers tbh. Don't get me wrong, I'm still interested in Flowers but I wish they'd made a yurige with an adult protaganist and heroines.

That's because most of them are Japanese and there's this stupid belief in Japan centering around girls allowed to be close and cuddly and shit and thinking they love each other. But they're not gay, thus making it acceptable to show fluffy slice-of-life high school things, because they'll "grow out of it."

All my rage for this trope.
