Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.
Shut up about Tumblr. If it's not a discussion about Tumblr RP it will be deleted.

demiro people don't really get crushes or feel romantic type feelings easily (these are distinct from friendship or sexual feelings). typically it means you only feel romantic feelings after you've formed a strong connection with someone and it's lasted awhile.

not making a statement on whether i think it's "real" but that's the theory

as opposed to those romance sluts who are giving up their hearts to any cute guy that passes them walking down the street.

+1

lmfao. apparently needing to know a person before falling for them now makes you an oppressed minority

okay but

I don't necessarily agree with everything that people who claim to be demisexual say, but I can kind of see where they might think that it is a thing. Because there are some people who do look at a person and go 'okay I have no idea who they are but I would bang them right now'.

But demiROMANTIC? Who the fuck looks at a person and says 'yes. I do not know this person, but I would want to do romantic shit with them.'? I am pretty damn sure that there is not a person alive who does that, and that everyone who likes someone romantically got to know them first.

sometimes i wonder if the whole "demiromantic" thing is a direct result of romantic comedies depicting love at first sight scenarios

(Anonymous) 2016-01-18 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
it probably is.

sorry, kids, you aren't actually special, you're just incredibly gullible and think fictional fantasy romance depicts actual reality.

there's definitely a lot of people who get crushes at the drop of a hat, too

(Anonymous) 2016-01-18 05:01 pm (UTC)(link)
but 99.9999% of crushes are of the "omg i want to fuck you so much" variety. they've just added in all the romantic stuff with it because with normal people, those two things mostly go hand-in-hand.

unlike what internet asexuals tell you, most sexual people are not bonobo chimps who just fuck at the drop of a banana.
