rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. possibly someone might want to suggest editing the profile page or making some kind of announcement as to what the tone of the game actually is and where it's going. because if it's not horror and we're all idiots, then someone does have a justifiable reason for being turned off by surprise horror. if it's not and they changed that, then a little heads up would be a good idea. it just seems like half the game doesn't know what the other half is going by and as an outside spectator, i couldn't tell you from adam. if the game players are confused, potential newbies are sure as hell going to be. if it's not horror, that's something that should be stated since it might get more members if most people writing if off are doing so for the horror.

i for one never thought it was horror??? so i was really surprised to hear so many people said it was!

as a player in the game, i never saw carvaka as horror. just survival heavy that carried some serious topics with it because of that. yeah, there were events that edged into horror sometimes, but it wasn't the main meat of the game. and current events definitely haven't been horror. i would say we're toeing a 'survival SoL' line right now.

This thread is an awful lot of strawmanning around when the issue raised is less about Carvaka being a horror game and more Carvaka being full of asshole characters that won't stop being assholes just because there's a cinnamon bun in their midst.

you could look at it that way, or you could see from multiple people remarking that there's a clear discrepancy in what the game is and what people think it is. i know that out of everyone i talk to on plurk, we all think carvaka's a horror game. that's not taking away from what set this thing off, but we're allowed to discuss things outside of 'this shit happened'. yes, it did, but as you'll notice, other shit is happening to.

if you want to drop deets on someone being a cinnamon bun too pure for this world, wg is right over there and thirsty for it. if you want to keep shitting up an already shitty post and derailing a legitimate conversation, go ahead.

what's wrong with wanting a compromise or plotting something different out so your character isn't written into a corner? anons on rpa or wg talk about reaching out or communicating to work something out, why is it suddenly different if your character is an asshole and "that's just how he is"?
