rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

people think that by having an unique icon style will be able to help others figure out that hey, it's super sketch to see someone else use an icon that they made. so that's why you have a bunch of filters on an image, borders, borders along with white space on the side and then including the image itself, your url on it... the list goes on and on.

what i was recommended to do when i joined tumblr rp. icon theft is rampant there.

rp theft in general is kinda rampant. i remember some transformers wank going down over this optimus prime player accused of stealing EVERYTHING (code, tags, writing) of another optimus player.

That doesn't matter. It's about preventing someone taking them and distributing them or using them without permission. Most people credit if they have used free-to-use icons, either in the sidebar or on a page. The point is that it means that you're less likely to see them stolen because you can't get away with it, and anyone using them either has balls the size of boulders or they're using them with permission.
