my rp partner is huge into it but watching it is literally painful for me

I have friends who love it and say that once you get past the first season, it gets better. But I don't want to waste my time watching shit just on the off-chance that it really does become less shitty

As someone who watches weekly, it never gets less shitty. In fact, the writing somehow got worse after the third season. I'm watching out of morbid fascination and because I need something for background noise while I sew but I wouldn't recommend this show to anyone.

i love cats and the style is adorable but i don't understand how it's actually fun? i tried it out and got so bored i deleted it within a few days.

if you're checking it often enough to find it boring you're doing it wrong

hamilton. i'd like to get into it because a bunch of my friends love it, but i know there's no way in hell it's going to live up to the hype.

if you like musicals, odds are you will enjoy hamilton a lot. i mean, the level of fandom explosion bewilders me, but it's unquestionably very good; best new musical i've heard in a decade at least.

basically, don't let fandom hyperbole keep you from listening to it if this is the kind of thing you enjoy.

Avocado has become some kind of health food golden child, but both the texture and the taste of it are absolutely disgusting to me. Stop putting it in everything I like!

I don't want to be that asshole who yells "hype aversion" every time a canon gets popular and refuses to even look at it.

But jesus christ, I am so sick of Undertale and Steven Universe I puke in my mouth every time I see it plastered all over my plurk or tumblr, which is fucking daily. I don't think I could bring myself to try either at this point.

canon-wise: pretty much everything that's comic-related, from actual comics to adaptions, i just can't find a fuck to give.

foods: kale. love veggies, but kale isn't happening. i also really dislike pudding? i think that's a texture thing, though.

i have a ton of friends who are into various ff games, but the ones i've tried to play have just felt like such a slog that i can't face the idea of putting 80+ hours in

maybe my days of monotonous random encounters and talking to 50 npcs trying to find the one who will advance the plot are over, spent on suikoden...

best place to spend your NPC fucks, though.

i watched as far as chimera ant arc and i just.... it's just... i don't know, not a single thing about any of the characters, and especially the main two, catch my attention. i even LIKE shounenshit, and all the arcs seem completely discombobulated to me, like i don't understand how we go from hunter exam to shit about nen, what the fuck is this island and why did we spend all this time learning about nen when all the rules are gonna be about weird card spells and when did this turn into an episode of yu gi oh or whatever. now children are getting eaten? whatever.

EVERYONE I KNOW loves it. my friends love it, my rp partners love it, my sister loves it. i just do not know what the appeal is at all.
