Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.
Shut up about Tumblr. If it's not a discussion about Tumblr RP it will be deleted.

well, yes

but here i'm totally serious

societal standards of beauty are bs and we're all going to die anyway, why not enjoy the things you like? i'm 240 now, i generally slide between 220 and 240 lbs, and i'm perfectly fine with my body. there was a time when i was much thinner, it was when i had to bike or walk everywhere (after getting hit 3 times by cars i've sworn off biking)

i'm a lot more out of shape than i used to be but i don't have to walk or bike anywhere and mostly i spend my days sitting down. and yeah, i knew everyone pisses and moans about how sitting is ~sooooooooooo bad!~ for you but if i have to choose between 60 years of sedentary ease or 75 of being a worker bee, i'll take the 60 years easy. you can keep your walmart greeter job and your senior walks around the mall. i'll be happy to drift off peacefully in my sleep, lounging in my favorite easy chair with feet that haven't had to pound any pavement since 2009

>lounging in my favorite easy chair without the feet i lost to diabetes

lol ok fat kid. tell us more about how super comfortable you are inside your body when your body wasn't even the topic of this thread in the first place

(Anonymous) 2016-01-10 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
haven't lost 'em yet but i won't be sorry if they do go

that's what those grabby claws are for

(Anonymous) 2016-01-10 12:30 am (UTC)(link)
that's your choice. you may be okay with losing parts of your body to diabetes or other illnesses, but not everyone else will agree. just like not everyone wants to watch their weight because of ~~beauty standards. maybe a history of obesity related diseases runs in their family. maybe their weight carries in a terrible way that makes their life a lot harder from a physical mobility standpoint. maybe they get sores and rashes from their rolls and they don't like it anymore.

point is, one of your fellow crabs no longer likes it in the bucket. stop trying to yank them back down in to it with you.

(Anonymous) 2016-01-10 12:38 am (UTC)(link)
that's a combination of paranoia and vanity from you, anon. not every fat person gets life-threatening illnesses. my grandparents were both fatties and they lived to 76 and 81 respectively, with a nary a missing limb to be found between either of them

op should do what they want. if exercising makes them happy and satisfying judgy fucks like you makes them happy, let them go for it! but if they couldn't care about whatever you may think, and would just as soon eat some cake, let them eat cake!

stop trying to impress your standards on everyone else, they matter to exactly no one but you (and who are you again?)

(Anonymous) 2016-01-10 12:40 am (UTC)(link)
are you an idiot or did you decide to only read parts of what i said?

(Anonymous) 2016-01-10 12:43 am (UTC)(link)
your mistake is thinking me or anyone else gives a fuck about anything you said

(Anonymous) 2016-01-10 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
>"make your peace with being a fatty"
>"moderation is for monks"
>"standards of beauty are bs and we're all going to die anyway"
>"i'm perfectly fine with my body"
>then ironically says "stop trying to impress your standards on everyone else"

looking back, i'm going with you being an idiot

thanks for playing

ah, the classic "i have nothing else to say so i'm going to quibble over nonsense now" comeback

don't go away mad, hon. just go away

OP here and I think it was just their way of being encouraging of my own choices and not adhering to what I might think is what other people want for me. There's no harm in it, is there? Especially since their comment did have a light and joking tone to it. I appreciate their comment as much as I do the other ones and I'm really glad they're comfortable and happy with their bodies too.

There are a lot of issues that come with either extreme of dieting or not exercising or whatever, but there's no harm or foul here and these discussions never go anywhere good for anyone. Both sides have valid points and as someone who has been at both extremes of weight I'm personally just looking to be a little healthier and not have to get a new wardrobe.

and my aunt had to have both knees replaced in her 50s because of being overweight so there you go. does your anecdote somehow cancel out mine?
