Right now just FFIX for PC. Been wanting to replay that one and my absolute failure to keep an attention span on PS3 and PSP has kept me from it.

Well, glad to let you know! The trailer looks gorgeous too, it's actually higher res and a lot of the jaggy stuff is nice and smooth now.

my reaction was a gentle gasp and the most hopeful "really??" ever uttered. I was literally just thinking about how much I loved this game and wanted to play it again.

I'm excited for it, too! Although I still own my PS, so I mean. Whenever I want to play it, I just throw that sucker in.

I'm a little scared because it doesn't look like they're updating the backgrounds, as far as I can tell, and it looks pretty tacky against the HD character models. I really hope they dig up the original high resolution art-I've seen some of it floating around the internet, but maybe SE doesn't have it anymore? Or maybe that's too much work for a port.

They've alread said that they lost the original art. Stuff like that tended to get lost to time in the days before HD remasters and ports and remakes and all - nobody saw a need to keep it around.

That's so unfortunate. I really am not loving how the sprites look running around on those backgrounds, but at least it's not FFVI level bad.
