Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.
Shut up about Tumblr. If it's not a discussion about Tumblr RP it will be deleted.

why do people even bother "cleaning" things if they're gonna do a half assed job of it

like how can you possibly look at this still dirty dish/carpet/floor/whatever and think "Yep I have done a good enough job to clean this item" when there's still visible dirtiness

disgusting

easy. they don't have ocd.

(Anonymous) 2016-01-08 07:26 pm (UTC)(link)
this pisses me off too

like you can just glance at a dish and see there's still food on it

as someone who does this: i honestly just don't notice mess. i assume you don't understand how that's possible, because my stepdad doesn't, and my answer to him is "well, i don't understand how you notice that the shoes are in the wrong place when they're in the vicinity of the door, which is their place."

sa

correction: i don't notice low levels of mess. there is a threshold where i consider it mess, it's just presumably a lot higher than yours.

different standards of cleanliness.

for some people, "this dish has been scrubbed and there are a couple of hard water spots on it" is clean, for some people that's "there are SPOTS on my DISH"

it's one thing if stuff is genuinely still muddy or food crusted or whatever, but a lot of people look at anything that's not absolutely pristine and declare it dirty. like, i won't leave cheese stuck to a plate, but i won't fuss if it's streaky because i ran out of jet dry, or throw out a towel because that spot where i spilled food coloring is permanently blue.

all my silverware would probably drive some people nuts because yeah. hard water spots everywhere. I don't even have a proper space in the kitchen to wash dishes in, so as long as I get the food off with hot water and dish soap and scrubbing, I can live with spots.

mte

why not clean the whole thing if you're already putting effort into it??

(Anonymous) 2016-01-08 08:23 pm (UTC)(link)
diminishing returns. there's the effort you put in to be able to find things and move around easily and then there's the effort you put in to make things look pretty, which I don't give a crap about.
