if it is done tactfully and keeping in mind that she is a human being, it's at least worth making the effort. letting her know in a sensible adult way that her portrayal is bothering other people will be more useful (not to mention mature) than, say, continuing to take the piss out of her on an anonymous forum

like if you (I use the general 'you' here for everyone who has been talking about this) don't want someone to react in the worst possible way there are. y'know. alternatives to giving them the information in the worst possible way. you can't be surprised that someone is paranoid and upset about people openly talking shit behind their backs, because that is literally exactly what's been happening.

if she receives the criticism and throws a fit/acts like she's being persecuted, at least you can say you've tried and everyone's made their own beds.

how to make it happen:

1. dreamwidth needs to have basically unlimited image hosting just like tumblr so people can jump right over and keep posting gifsets and so on like they already have gotten used to doing
2. dreamwidth needs to actually seriously give a fuck about making a good mobile interface and get a real designer(s) to do that
3. dreamwidth needs to actually seriously give a fuck about visual presentation and not just accessibility and get a real designer(s) to make slick modern default visual styles because what they have right now is the same 1990s-looking shitshow other open source projects have because they don't want to invest in good design
4. dreamwidth needs better cross-journal/comm content discovery and sharing mechanisms like global tags and easy instant reblogging

if you're a programmer or designer, get on volunteering to implement that and THEN maybe you can get fandom to move over

my regular vet will do payment plans, but the emergency vet won't touch your animal until they scan your card and verify that you have enough to cover the procedure. so if fido needs his teeth cleaned i can pay that off over the next year, but if he's hit by a car the vet will just kanyeshrug and let him die.

i've got neighbors i wonder this about. they have a that dog that lives 24/7/365 in a small run in the backyard, whether it be 100+ F, the ground covered in ice, or half-flooded. i've had an open view of their yard and noticed they basically never interact with him outside of feeding and even then they just pour food into the his bowl and leave.

i've stealth-visited him before when there was no one around and he's really sweet. it baffles me why they would keep him like this.

i've called the city authorities about his condition before but they said they can't do anything. it's a small rural town in texas so i kind of doubt it's an issue of can't and more an issue of won't. if he's still around by the time i'm able to move the fuck outta here i might very well steal him on the way out of town.

I think he's really awfully cute in terms of looks and demeanor, and I tend to like unusual faces on people, but I can see why some people aren't into it. It can get annoying seeing Adam Driver fans try to force people into liking how he looks, it reminds me too much of when Benedict Cumberbatch was all the rage and people would throw a million photos of him at somebody else to "prove" he's attractive.
