rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

lbr, most people turned down for a psl tend to think they've stepped on someone's toes/they're being snubbed/the person turning them down secretly hates them, and will read upset into even the most upbeat and cheerful refusal. dwrp collectively cannot manage to comprehend people responsibly managing their thread load and not having room for "just one more, really".

not really, because the intentions are different. you're definitely taking up this attitude to make yourself feel superior to others. those confiding in others about their struggles, while they do gain something from it, are not doing so for a sense of superiority, which is the core of narcissism.

plus, I mean, fuck, any psych worth their salt will encourage sharing their struggles (some struggles, not all) with understanding friends, so long as those friends aren't going to enable negative reinforcement or other bad behaviors. a lot of therapists will gladly help organize group meetings between either yourself and other people suffering, or yourself and close friends/family so that you can finally be open with your struggles, so that you can all come to a better understanding.

you've convinced yourself this behavior is toxic/manipulative because you are desperately clinging to some aspect of your life that makes you feel superior to others. you're a narcissist, anon. accept it.

using socks when there's mutual interest shown on an anon platform is one thing.

using socks to pm someone out of the blue carries shades of "why are you hiding your identity, exactly?", even if the reaction's not necessarily a conscious one for everyone.

I don't think she and Pearl had fused before then. Pearl seemed pretty surprised by seeing Ruby and Sapphire fuse and when they run into Garnet again, Pearl just calls her "The Fusion." If they had fused before that point she probably wouldn't have regarded Garnet as being so alien.

I think with Rose, she's only being depicted the way she is ("older wiser lesbian", as OP put it) because we're mostly seeing her through the eyes of other characters/other characters' stories. The one time we saw a completely objective view of her, in Lion the Movie: Straight to Video, it was after she met Greg and learned more about humanity. I agree that with the limited screentime Rose has had, it's...not really a huge deal. We still have a lot of story to go through and learn more about her.

So basically you're either a troll or you're jealous that some people are comfortable and cope by talking things out instead of suffering by themselves because of stupid pride.

a whole lot of shit in this thread actually is people talking about how anyone who mentions their mental illnesses at all is a manipulative jackass.

most of the mental illness mentions that i see on my plurk are of the "having a bad brain day send cute animal pics" variety, not the "my life is soooooo hard because [laundry list of diagnoses] pity me and send money" variety.

i am skeptical of the latter but the former doesn't deserve to be lumped in with them.
