rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. - we've got 50 men and 19 women in the game (72%/28%), which is slightly more balanced than our pre-january app numbers of 44 men and 15 women (75%/25%). still a long way to go if we want gender parity.
- of our 41 represented canons, 27 of them are lone canon warriors (66%).
- the biggest cast in the game is kingdom hearts at 7 (10%), followed by fire emblem: awakening at 6 (9%) and durarara!! at 4 (6%).
- the current event log has comments from 35 characters (51%), which is consistent with december's month-long event log (32 characters, ~50%, don't have data on who dropped in december, my bad). this number is probably going to skyrocket once part two of the event goes live, because we are all disgusting sinners and i love each and every one of you.
- all of this does of course mean that we are at exactly 69 characters.

lmk if there's any other stuff you want me to "analyse" i guess and i can totally do it. if nothing else i'll definitely be tracking gender parity on a month to month basis because it matters a lot to me.

honestly, while i don't talk about my problems on plurk because i get uncomfortable when people try to comfort me, i don't mind the people who do or think that it's somehow wrong of them to ask for support.

there are ways in which it can be manipulative, such as someone who uses depression or anxiety as a reason that they can never be criticized for anything or a reason that they shouldn't be expected to perform basic necessary tasks.

but there is nothing manipulative about "man, guys, I feel like shit right now. Does anybody have cute animal pictures?"

i feel like they're already diverging enough that they could have made it less derivative, though, and it would give people a more logical in. this way, there's going to need to be a lot more exposition on why some of this shit matters. it feels like they're starting in the second season, and there's no going back to catch up on the first.

I'm sick of the typical interactions panfandoms tend to result in (explaining world differences, adjusting to new technology, explaining different species and time periods, etc) and I'm sick of the "everyone thrown into a new world and they have to get used to it" style of play. Throwing a giant mish-mash of characters together is just w style of game I'm not really into anymore; I like starting off with established relations and not having to have the time period/world differences talk with every new character mine meets if they happen to be an alien or from the 1500s or something.

I guess that means I'm mostly sick of panfandom JAMJARS and I would love more AU games. However even then I'm a little sick of castmates and enabling and all that stuff, and trying to incorporate a huge range of characters into a single cohesive world. For example, I played in a panfandom AU and would have loved having siblings for my character to play off of. However, he has canon siblings and even in AU games it's generally expected that canon families will remain the same in case a castmate apps. So being a lone canon warrior in an AU game generally results in a ton of handwaved behind the scenes relations because no one is playing those characters.

Single fandom games can have that problem too but there is only one cast to app into so it isn't that exaggerated. With OC games anyone can app a relation at any time and you don't have to wait for someone to come along and play from your canon.

that's not what people are doing, though. the narcissism is in you assuming that must be what they're doing and your way is much better
