So, inspired by Storyshift, I'm toying with an AU idea similar to Underswap, except a) not everyone is swapped, and b) the swapped characters keep their canon personalities even in their new roles. However, this comes with the added challenge of figuring out how to work them into the roles while keeping true to the characters.

The two biggest hurdles for me are Sans in Papyrus's role and Toriel in Asgore's. Toriel because she's so adamant against killing humans in the original canon and Sans because his personality is so strikingly different from Papyrus's, as are his interests. I am thinking Sans would only be a partial swap, though, in that he'd retain his knowledge about and interest in science. Possibly still do the judgment hall, though Papyrus being there would be really cute...

Lastly, I'm only swapping Papyrus and Sans, Asgore and Toriel, Alphys and Undyne, and mmmmaybe Bratty and Catty with the two royal guards. Wanna keep it simple, so I can dedicate more time to exploring those few swaps and how they'd affect the story. I don't want it to be a scene for scene copy with just a few characters switched, but I do want the overall feel of the story to still be there.

tl;dr: Wanna do a role swap that keeps the characters' original personalities and would love ideas on how to strike the right balance. It's a fun little challenge.

too late for this advice now, but if other anons have this or if it ever happens again, try to use a heat compress to treat it instead. apply several times a day, i went for three to five times daily. i had one before and was able to treat it without lancing.
