rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. The way the FAQ was written is what turned me off. It feels like I'm 14 and on LJ reading it. I don't care about your perspective of point of view and I know there's a thin line between "professional" in modding and not but there are some things that just don't belong in a game's FAQ post.

The character/player limit thing is weird too. Who has a limit of 25 players but they can play 3 characters each? Why not make it 50 players and 1 character each or just have a hard limit of a certain number of characters and say you might make exceptions if you can handle more or get another mod somewhere along the line?

It's not worth it, it's never worth it. Too often my hero older guy/girl ends up as the de facto dad/mom figure constantly pulling their asses out of the fire, being the brunt of REBELLIOUS TEEN ANGST or source of constant comfort, and players getting upset that my 30 year old character might prefer to make friends his/her own age :/

iunno, LA characters just flat out don't interest me. I don't want to play off them. There isn't any value judgment or stereotype dictating this, I just don't like playing against LA characters. Same goes for western comic book characters, really, but they're pretty rare except in very specific games built for them.

this. i don't care whether i know any of the characters in the game or not as long as the plot and setting look fun and like they'd be a good fit for my character.

animanga totally gets to dominate multiple games and rudely ignore people playing characters from non-japanese canons but suggest one western media or la only game and animu fans collectively shit the bed

better. and i've had other players of the character tell me they thought my version was the best.

i wouldn't put a cap on it because all that does is make people feel like they have to write that much for their app to be considered acceptable. in my years of modding i can count on two hands the number of apps i've received that had personality sections longer than 1k and most of them actually weren't padded with a ton of filler. i've found that most people tend to end up in the 500-800 word mark if left to their own devices.

this chaps my ass and it's indicative of how immature players like that are, thinking it wouldn't be seen as weird for someone that much older to befriend a bunch of, say, 14yo teenagers

i wonder if players like that aren't like those fans I see sometimes at the anime cons here, still 30/35/40 years old wearing cat ears, a leash & collar and a soiled shirt, spouting dead tumblr memes and trying desperately to get chummy with the horde of awkward teen girls

my car breaking down and forcing me to start walking to and from work was probably the best thing to happen to me health- and weight-wise. even though it's fixed now, i still walk to work and back just because the regular exercise makes me feel energized.

the fact that you'd be turned off from games with more than 5-6 or a decent sized cast in them is what's really eyerollworthy.

I'd care less if the people in question I've heard this from didnt RP characters just as, if not more so, horrendous than kilgrave, but "my sweet bae" logic applies
