You have no idea. I heard from a friend about some of the calls they made during reserves, and damn are they dumb.

If this is about Jex, sorry, they've got a long wank history and I don't blame the mods for rejecting the reserve.

Nope not them. They got rejected because of who they wanted to play.

I haven't been following the reserves and I'm not sure if any have been removed so this is just a guess. Was it a character who clearly and automatically did not have enough canon?

asriel, beyond birthday and hanna are all still on the reserves page and those were the only ones i've seen brought up as "not enough canon"

pyra's app is up, so they didn't preemptively turn her down for being pyra

any other ideas?

There's a few casts that were active in the tdm that didn't reserve, but nearly all of them have people in the game.

there was one of the undertales being wanked on over on wg i believe for trying to app in a walking spoiler who didn't have much canon to draw from

i think also maybe one of the stan pines from gravity falls but i'm canonblind there so i don't know which one

I assume this is about Hamilton? If so, yeah those characters are definitely fictionalized enough and if the mods rejected that canon altogether it's a weird call :/

Yeah they're now worried about other games that use similar wording in the rules. A few other games use the exact same phrase.

really surprised beyond birthday was okayed. pretty sure before this mod team took over there'd have been a 50% headcanon warning issued, like there was for some of the homestucks.

i can't comment on any other character because i'm canon-blind, but beyond birthday? really?

maybe the mods are canonblind to death note

i agree with you, but that character has been allowed in so many games in the past that you might not be able to get around it. a lot of mods have allowed death note shit they shouldn't have on that basis.

hi, im someone whose app was rejected last round for their character not having enough background; it seems like sometimes they let you reserve these kinds of characters without warning you beforehand that your character isn't technically appable, which is probably what's going on with beyond birthday. or any of the other characters like that, really.

inb4 "you should've known your character didn't have enough background", they had a character in the cast i was apping into with even less history, so i figured i was fine, aha;

beyond birthday has a brief history. the problem is that he doesn't have much of a canon personality, because he's imitating L in almost all of his appearances. he doesn't have conversations with anyone as himself.

there was one round where a bunch of homestuck dancestors reserved and the mods left them all notes reminding them of the 50% headcanon rule and that they'd be judged closely on it

Someone pointed out, fairly, that leaving a public 50% headcanon warning was basically painting a target on someone for wank. So I don't think they do that anymore.

yep. seems if they don't do it publically, they're not doing it at all.

Boxer/Subject Not Found from Transistor also got that warning. Somehow they managed to scrape up a passable app for him.
