Tush smooshed

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.
Shut up about Tumblr. If it's not a discussion about Tumblr RP it will be deleted.

jumping in here, but as a mod, one of the jobs there is to take the entirety of the game into consideration. yes, one player and their mental depression issues is a terrible thing, but the mods have to look at the whole. that one person is making a hell of a lot more people miserable, and they're doing it by turning the environment they're in into a toxic one. this is not therapy. i do not want to hear about depression and suicide and feel like if i don't tag this person, they might kill themselves. no one joined this hobby to be someone's mental crutch.

i feel bad for pyra and what she's going through, but her well being is not the responsibility of people that don't really know her via the interwebs. in the case of 'sorry sorry i'll just go kill myself', i can understand a mod wanting to remove that sort of pressure/fear from the rest of the playerbase. what if one day she really does kill herself? should the people in the game feel responsible for that because they didn't tag her enough? that's a hell of a thing to just let go on and it probably won't surprise you to know that a lot of people in this hobby have depression/self harm issues. threats like that, idle or otherwise, can be both triggering (legitimately, not just tumblrspeak) and difficult for someone else to deal with.

use rp to step out of your shit. don't drag your shit into rp and then insist that other people make your shit feel better. i wouldn't say that pyra's being intentionally manipulative, but she is making a portion of the playerbase uncomfortable. at that point, it does fall on the mods to say 'we're sorry, but we don't think this is the right environment for you and what you need at the moment. we'd like to suggest you take a step back and give yourself a break from the stress this seems to cause you, both for your benefit and the benefit of your fellow game mates.'

you can remove someone and not be a giant ballsack about it.

i do not have a strong opinion about whether pyra should be banned or not. if it's making a bunch of people uncomfortable, then fine.

if someone i didn't know very well was threatening suicide on plurk, i would choose to unfollow them and probably not tag them in game anymore. going to the mods is not what i would do, but that is just me. i'm the type of person who is perfectly content with leaving well enough alone. like you said, nobody is responsible for pyra's shit except pyra.

if it stayed out of game things, i'd agree with you. but when she's ic/ooc bleeding in a game thread and then deleting everything in an ongoing thread and dragging her own personal things into the game? that's when it becomes a game issue. pyra is responsible for her own shit, but her game mates shouldn't have to wonder if being ic with their chars is going to cause her to do something self harmy because 'omg imsorryimsorry neg cr omg kill me now'.

no one wants to have to tiptoe around that kind of timebomb and they shouldn't have to.

well, you're not wrong. i'm really just glad i'm not a mod.

Hi I'm the one who went to a mod with my pastebin and the reason I did so was because she tagged into my post. Instead of ignoring her while tagging everyone else and leave her wondering why, I thought the better solution (granted I knew it wouldn't end that great either) would be to go to her directly. She then flipped out on me and so yeah, I went to the mods with my concerns because she's bleeding IC/OOC and is already making the player base as a whole uncomfortable. I would have been fine with leaving well enough alone accept Pyra continued to talk to me and another player after we unfollowed her.

that does sound very much like harassment, and i'm sorry.

honestly, i come from the perspective of someone who has been really lucky when it comes to ooc interactions with other players. i've never been stalked or harassed or even forced to coddle someone like pyra, so apologies for appearing flippant about the shitty things she's done.
