i know of one person who plays him straight or at least hasn't had any m/m threads but that's it. every other one i've seen is riding dorian's dick or wants to.

give me cass, isabela, josephine, vivienne, or leliana, and i'll play cullen straight in a heartbeat. hell, give me a well-constructed female inquisitor who isn't the video game version of the player and who wants to do more substantial threads than crying about elf/mage oppression or playing out endless fluff of cullen doting on her.

until then? forget it. i'd rather have fun with rp instead of being someone's prince charming dispenser.

i just feel like their dynamic would be so interesting. especially since she's been around since the ferelden circle. and they could've met while she was in kirkwall and... i could extrapolate on this for a while.

exactly! and they've got a number of similar life experiences (being fereldan expats, having faith see them through hard times, etc.) and values to really build an interesting relationship on.

... apparently i can extrapolate for a while too. one of the side-effects of having played both of them, i think.

haha i'm in the same boat in having played both. never really thought about shipping them before because i like their rivalry/friendship dynamic as advisers a whole lot, but damn it, now you've got me thinking about it, too.

oh man, i agree about the wardens. i'm so over this. random fits of optimism will encourage me to still try with inquisitors sometimes, but never wardens.

I'd love to play off of Cullen more but yeah, most seem interested in m/m shipping. I play all of those ladies and rarely have a nibble on shipping shenanigans with Cullen. :( Feels bad.

might help more if you have a shipping preference or something on your journals. i know i occasionally check to see whenever i happen to spot a castmate i'd like to thread with. and i'll be honest with you, anon. i get less dropped threads with male characters than i do with female characters, so a lot of times i don't even bother because i get tired of having a thread i'm really interested in get dropped after 2-3 tags.

same here. not sure why that is but the female character players are bigger on the thread dropping than the male character players.

seem interested in m/m because they drop your tags and kept tagging men or seem interested in m/m because they just do a lot of m/m threads?

because while i do, as a cullen player, do a lot of m/m threads, i've never dropped a thread with any of the female characters listed above. i will drop threads with female inquisitors when they exhibit any of the problems listed in these other comments, but i actively want to play with female canonmates. they're just few and far between and the male characters aren't.

tl;dr, just because you see cullens doing a lot of m/m threads doesn't mean that's all they want.

not ayrt but i rarely tag cullens in memes these days for similar reasons, especially when it comes to shippy shit. i appreciate your comment because it's made me think about just how much of the disinterest in female characters i thought i'd noticed has actually been protag-related. it's still true that seeing cullen players tag female characters seems rare, but i feel like we're all pretty bad about tagging out most of the time, myself included.

basically we should all just fucking tag.

as a different cullen player, i can tell you all of mine is protag related. i hardly ever get tagged by female da characters who aren't either wardens or inquisitors and i don't see many of them around to tag.

i almost never post in memes anymore. if i get back to it and see more female da characters who aren't protags, i'll give them a try.
