Well, to clarify, my top two when I apped in were wendigo and kelpie. I thought kelpie would be hilarious for easily-spooked nerd child, but wendigo I literally just wanted because it was tall. I mean, I loved it aesthetically too, and I'm friends with the Madoka player and kept hearing how much of a blast she was having with it, but. Tall. Now that I'm playing it out, I realize the tall isn't actually that important to me, and the rest of it is actually kind of boring? When I was looking up deer references, I didn't get all that attached to any species I found, and I wasn't hugely interested in a lot of the optional mental changes that I could tack on (whereas I am having a lot of fun with the optional temper change for minotaurs).

And I may have liked it back then if I'd gotten it and done the changes gradually? But this most recent event was an instant full transformation, so maybe that's what's turning me off of it. Maybe I'm just super used to minodip and I can't imagine anything else. I'm not sure! I wish I could give you a better answer.

no, that's alright! different people just go for different things, perfectly understandable. i think my favourite things about the wendigo (other than the fact that wendigos are like my favourite cryptid in general) are mostly how horrifying a lot of its traits are, i liked the idea of slowly implementing a lot of those really disturbing changes and playing around with the struggle of coping with the traits that make things difficult for a character, like the greediness, the hunger, causing frostbite in other people... plus i love deer, so!

i'm glad to hear that you have a lot of fun with minotaur dipper though! and it's always satisfying to have it reaffirmed that you've headed down a path you really like with huge gameplay elements like that, haha.
