I'm pretty canonblind to StarCraft but I'd love a scifi/horror game. I don't really like faction games/pvp too much so idk how I feel about the conscription thing, since most characters in dwrp are human anyway and probably wouldn't want to go kill other humans. Maybe just have everyone conscripted by Terrans and make it a pve game? Just my preference.

I imagine there would be a lot of politics involved, too. Like, the Zerg are led by a former human who was captured and infested, and is open to negotiation as of the latest installment in the series. The Protoss generally keep to themselves unless they're attacked (unless the Zerg, whom they consider their sworn enemies, get involved). And there's intraracial factions -- the Terrans have four different factions, the Protoss three, and the Zerg two.

And introduced in SC2 was a greater scope villain that all three races are being forced to unite to fight against. At one point we see a vision where each faction tried to fight this guy piecemeal, and the end result was the total destruction of the universe as we know it. So that could come into play.

Also characters might not like the way Terrans do things. Over 90% of their soldiers are convicted felons that have been "resocialized" and/or mind-wiped, plus two of the major Terran factions are insanely corrupt, with the Dominion being led by a dictator (though that recently changed) and the Kel-Morian Combine being run by corporate elites. Whereas the Zerg are a hive mind and Protoss soldiers all chose to be warriors.

I just don't think pvp works very well in dwrp. It limits your CR pool and forces your characters into factions in a very artificial way. I mean if OP wants to make it a pvp game, awesome, they can do what they want! But my personal preference in dwrp is pve.
